I figured as much, but I wanted to make sure. It’ll be a pretty powerful combo in the next one thanks to Tenrai-Ha mash.
I can definitely see the utility in having easier midscreen combos, but I’m still waiting on the speed buff and pendulum cancels. At least they finally gave her a way to make use of that 64k damage rating.
I’d say Felicia has the biggest muscles. After all, she’s part cat. Though Ko isn’t exactly dainty either. Not buff, of course, but no waif. I guess “toned” or “defined” would be appropriate. I recall that during the game’s planning stages, Felicia was the seductive one and Morrigan was actually butch.
Anyway. NYCC is right around the corner. Any of us going?
And LL.ND, was that mixup with TRH practiced, or was it a spur of the moment decision? There may have been some sloppy moments in those matches, but there were some moments of brilliance too.
Felicia was originally meant to be the sexy one and Morrigan the cute one but then they swapped them around (good call). Felicia should have big(ger) muscles really, her power is from her physique rather than magic. Not that you saw Hsien-Ko’s arms much but they were just as muscley as Felicia’s in the OAV, same with Morrigan
It’s been practiced before, but it’s kinda iffy and situational. First off, the randomness of the falling spiked balls can be concentrated to put the opponent into long enough block stun to have absolute guard in their favor against your left/right teleports. If there’s a loose gap in between the balls, then it’s pretty much an unblockable. Second, as you can see I only tried it on the last character to secure the win and it also took 2 meters+more to dhc if that character has more health.
From Neogaf:
“Chiretou seems to have faster start up. No specific timing after an air combo was needed for this hyper to connect. It can be mashed for more additional hits and damage.”
was that a mistake and were confusing it with Tenraiha?
Iron fist has two mashable hypers so it’s possible, she does too. And Tenraiha never really needed specific timing after an air combo like Chiretou does.
I did find it interesting after watching the videos that mashing doesn’t extend the number of projectiles or the “length” of a hyper, but simple adds more hits.
That sounds odd. He must’ve been confusing it with TRH, especially if the whole “more hits, no additional animation” thing stays true. Chireitou doesn’t really lend itself to mashing, seeing as it’s not a “rapid hit” kind of move.
Late-night edit: So F. Champ commented on how he was surprised he saw a Hsien-Ko player at the tourney last night. Seth responded by saying something like:
“Yeah, she has some pretty crazy projectiles. Oh, and she has some of that streamlining of moves we mentioned earlier…”
hey if any of you guys are cool with maximilian, can you ask him if he’d be cool with letting you play the early copy that he got of the game that he got for his Assist Me series? even for just like an hour? it would be really cool to have some real in-depth info the new options for Hsien-ko regarding her new jump-cancellable normals.
You know, I don’t think he actually got an early copy. He was probably allowed to use one of the last builds for his video whilst at one of those game shows or whatever
All I know is, with its slightly-faster startup, we should be able to bounce most - if not all (hypers excluded, of course) - of Hawkeye’s arrows back at him with Hsien-Ko’s Gong. Self-poisoning, ho! Though knowing Capcom, Henkyo Ki will probably just stop the arrows or not even do anything half the time.
And Sent got a speed boost? Good for Mr. Robot, but…
I’m predicting they’ll “forget” to code in bounce properties on all of the new characters projectiles and they’ll just blow right through the gong, haha.
I never understood how Phoenix’ salty balls did not get thrown right back at her in MvC3. I could understand bullets clashing, and beams being nullified, but that thing in particular never made any sense.
I look forward to a lot more of that bs in Ultimate with Hsien-Ko in particular. Things are looking pretty dim right now…
Oh, fuck. I hate the explosions. I have a feeling Nemmy’s missiles will do the same. It never made sense how a lot of stuff that should be reflected isn’t. Hopefully that’s part of the “streamlining” PR bs Seth was talking about.
