Really? I thought a lot of people want him in. Even Niitsuma said he wanted him in. But maybe opinions have changed, or new people have started voicing their opinions.

I couldn’t give a crap about Talbian (even though he’s English). Characters that I’d quite like to see are BB Hood and Queen Bee, Demetri and Jedah would be interesting too.
i went to a nearby city to play some games of MvC3 yesterday (i got mostly destroyed all day, but did get a few wins out. nearly made a comeback with just Ko as well at one point but fucked my ball super > M gong > super follow up.) And basically just had everyone tell me not to play her if i want to win. truth be told as well, it was close to an unwinnable situation when most people are running wolvie, wesker, mags, taskmaster etc etc. its actually the first time ive really felt limited by the character just trying to chase people all over the damn place.
i really hope she gets made faster in ultimate, i would say she needs to be AT LEAST 40% faster to be in with a chance of being viable. im still gonna keep her on my team though, i could never play as most of the top tiers in this since i just find them incredibly fucking boring.

I’m pretty sure that he is way more popular here than he is in Japan. I think it’s because the guy is basically the closest thing Darkstalkers has ever had to Wolverine and the salt has never dissipated over that in the more active DS community. Here in the West where people have less exposure to the character they just like the aesthetics, the story and he looks pretty cool. He actually came two votes shy of fourth place in the UMvC3 Capcom Unity polls.

Tons of people want him in and Niitsuma even recognized it by saying that he’d like him in the game. The problem I have with that is that we never know what those Japanese devs really want. They’ll probably try to nerf him straight into the Marianas trench if the other three Darkstalkers are any indication.

It’s a shame that we can’t see midnight bliss in effect, but I’m sure we’ll get the chance if they ever make a DSIV. It’d be a real trip haha. This game would provide the best material though.

That is exactly what will happen to you unless you’ve got a plan set in place. I’ve got to fight top tiers constantly and it’s one of the biggest reasons I’ve stopped playing rank since I hit 4th lord. The cheese is way too powerful and pure skill can’t cut it against completely safe 50/50 mixups, powerful zoners, beam supers and crazy fast melee fighters.
Most people are going to tell you to shake her off and they’d be right about it if you are trying to win consistently, especially at tournaments.

Haha I know these capcom events well enough to leave at least 10+ hours before. Last fight club, me and a bunch of friends brought a bunch of chairs and two tvc set-ups. We plugged the tvs(with the help of extension cords+power strips) into some power outlet dangling outside a garage nearby the venue and played while we waited in line. Good times.

Midnight Bliss is a move Demitri uses to seduce cast members before ravaging them. It in turn turns the guy characters into gals, because apparently Vampires have magic like that when it suits their sexual tastes.
For example the girl Lei Lei is hugging in my avatar is actually Zabel/Lord Raptor. I’m sure googling midnight bliss via google images will turn some results for other DS cast members.
Well yeah, you have to expect a considerate number of people who don’t like a character that seems greatly popular.
About that Pixiv poll regarding characters that are unfavorited… it seems some people who saw them close don’t want to reveal them, with the explanation that the results would hurt the feelings of their fans in the West. I want to see it so I can believe actually, since according to said people who saw the polls Demitri was also along with Talbain in the list of unfavorite characters. I was honestly surprised by that, since Demitri always seemed mildly popular to me. I asked the guy why and he gave me an answer that was hard to understand (he is Japanese and don’t speak English fluently), but from I what got Demitri received negative votes due of being uncharismatic and uninteresting as the “vampire guy” of the roster.
No offense to him, but I found the explanation unsastifactory. Hence why I want to see Pixiv’s poll of unfavorite characters so at least I can know that isn’t just some wild rumor.
I can deal with her ground speed, but that airdash, I dunno, should be more Dash-like : /

Maybe she’ll be better off with those jump-cancelable normals after all. If she has to be a zoning character to compete, then that’s what I’ll learn. It’s no VSav Hsien-Ko, but I’ll take what I can get.

Speaking of VSav, I just played it at a local arcade that I didn’t know had it. Someone had apparently gotten mash-happy with the :mp: button on controller 1, so I went to controller 2. The stick was all worn out and terrible and the buttons were so worn out that I had to forcefully push on the buttons and the :hp: still wouldn’t come out half the time. It felt like I was going to get a wrist hernia. Playing on a freakin’ keyboard is better. Felt worse than playing her in this game. I guess I have something to be thankful for.

Yeah, I think she’ll be fine in the end though. She is a pretty popular character and one of the more well liked among the higher tiers. I’m sure she’ll get a nice too to compensate for that silly air dash nerf…
I have to admit that this is kinda true haha. I felt like grabbing my monitor and yelling “no, no stop raw tagging dammit! T_T”. Her assist is very useful, but it’s far harder to set it up compared to Haggar and Tron’s who are just a button press away.

Nah, disruptor really was that stupid good. It’ll probably still be too good unless Capcom lowers start up frames for her gongs. Still, she could totally be viable if Niitsuma actually plays a few sessions of VS and sees what he did to the characters lol.

And I’m sure Niitsuma and Co. knew what they were doing and just decided to take some liberties with her “zoning” moveset (even if she does have good spacing in VSav). It just kinda didn’t work out the way they thought it might because, well, she’s not a zoning character. Maybe she was meant to be in VHunter? Her moveset just doesn’t work that way, especially when TRH is her prime super.
