New trick up our sleeves: The Hsien Ko changelog

Newly added to Anki-Hou: Character toss - Hsien-Ko has a chance to toss out a character randomly selected from the roster who will replace her for the entire match.

I still want to see her throw out mini-MODOKs, ala Faust.

She’d be borderline broken!

Make it a dizzy and we have a winner!

Edit: Bonus points if they have MODOK scream out “Cry for her!” every time she throws it lolz.

I actually wanted Frank’s camera to be a dizzy item and flash when it hit the opponent when the game first came out–

Wait. We’re actually talking about what shit she should throw. Capcom is trying to misdirect us from the real issues! Those sly dogs.

She should throw the limited edition tin cases of vanilla MvC3.

About the only thing they’d give her that might make opposing players bitter.

Anyone starting to feel that the reason Hsien-Ko isn’t getting any boosts to her mobility is because of Rimoukon? As in, Capcom thinks she’d be able to get in too easily with better speed and Hyper Armor? I mean, if it’s really that much of an issue, they could change it to a Lv. 3, but maybe they’re afraid of the possibility of that combo somehow being broken and figure it’d just be better to have an underpowered character.

I think it’s more likely that when they were putting her in MvC3 they just had her penciled in as more of a zoning character, hence the “buffs” to anki hou. S-Kill has said they have three general character archetypes they have characters divided in, and it’s obvious they don’t see her as a pixie.

I think I remember that. Were the archetypes rushdown, zoning, and battery (I remember Ryu being described as a battery by Niitsuma, which is… odd, unless the Japanese definition of battery characters differs from ours). Odd they put her in, then, or went the way they did.

He mentioned them as recently as the IPW interview with Haunts at Pax. Can’t recall them though!

Ah, okay then. I actually never got around to listening to that. I’ll have to dig it up in the morning.

If I were a dev, I would’ve listed her under rushdown based on her tools and how she works in Savior, or maybe even battery because of all of her multi-hit moves. Though I’ll leave it to the guys with experience to sort that one out, even if they are making stupid choices.

They had 4 archtypes: Normal, Technical, Speed and Power. Hsien Ko I believe belongs to the technical archtype, the more unusual ones that need a lot of creativity and skill to work. As far as I know it went for the Capcom side:

Normal: Akuma, Arthur, Morrigan, Ryu, Wesker
Technical: C Viper, Dante, Hsien Ko, Viewtful Joe, Trish
Speed: Ammy, Chun Li, Felicia, Jill, Zero
Power: Chris, Haggar, Spencer, Tron

I am not sure for some, but I do know that it’s important for Neo G and Niitsuma that the numbers of each type are as equal as possible.

Hey guys! Look!

Bottom of the page!

ReiRei Artillery Unit! Now with 100% more cat!

That cat had better do 50 percent damage or be a “stun them until you hit them” item.

I think it should do a full screen explosion that takes off 75%

Hsien Ko should get a new super where she just tosses a ton of random shit at the opponent all at once. Get lucky with a few stun items and you might get a free Happy Birthday.

Hell, she should throw Norimaro out too.

Or this:

So much better in XX. Best footage I could find on the fly.

I’m kind of bitter right now.

I guess actually having other people to talk it out with makes the whole thing a lot easier.

You should’ve been here in February. The few Hsien-Ko players out there were rather… bitter. Including me. It’s silly, but I still am a little. But what can we do other than do the best we can with her or drop her?

And shoutouts to LL.ND on WNF! Ignore the haters; you did a fine job. You certainly did get the spectator hype going.

Damn, I missed last night’s WNF. Time to watch the archive I guess.

Urge to kill rising…
