lol i saw youd posted in here on the “threads with recent activity” column and i immediately knew…
Best to keep the sorrow in its own thread(s). I’m sure people elsewhere are annoyed by my Hsien-Ko’ing by this point.
lol I had the same reaction with the “difficult to balance due to move set” statement.:lame:
I’m not taking the lack of significant buffs too bad, though…as long as they don’t try to nerf Rimoukon…then we’d really have some problems.
If her moveset is apparently so hard to balance, then why not at least buff her speed? It’s the least we could ask for. The least.
Well… at least they mentioned her…
I hope that means that they are tooling around with her, trying to figure out what they can improve or change. Which puzzles me because the areas she needs improvement are glaringly obvious to anyone who mains her, and should be apparent to anyone who just picks her up to test.
To me, it seems like they *haven’t *been tooling around with her much. Makes me wonder how much effort they’re putting behind other areas of the game (i.e., Dark Phoenix, XF).
I don’t even see how her moveset is hard to balance. Would she really be broken (hard to achieve unless you’ve got some blatant bullshit in the Marvel series) if she retained her core skills from VSav? Sure, she’s got a funky moveset, but compared to some other characters, it’s honestly not that weird.
One thing’s for sure. If Wright was apparently really difficult to balance, then he must have a weird moveset that could be fun. So we’ll see how he turns out, and then we can decide whether Capcom was just bullshitting and didn’t want to bother working on Ko.
Though, as any good PR statement goes, Seth’s being ambiguous. Maybe they truly are playing around with her. Only time will tell. And maybe TGS.
That line gives me some hope though, especially for the Thor one. It sounds more like they haven’t been working on them very much yet, just slap in some random buffs and get to them later on.
Thank you for being positive, guys. I’m sorry for overreacting and being negative; it’s the last thing we need for her to get better. It actually makes sense for Capcom to tackle the more prevalent issues first, then clean up the problems less impactful on the meta.
What Seth says does sound like they haven’t given up on her, at least for now.
We still got two more events to see new builds before release, if she ain’t better by NYCC then it’s over.
Yeah I’m not really buying this “difficult to balance” crap. I’m sure there are others that are harder, including some of the new characters like Ghost Rider and Nemesis, both of whom have long reaching normals as well.
Yeah, this is how I felt. I’m probably just going to stick with one console for Ultimate. All I want is real improvements for Morrigan and Lei Lei so that I can compete in UMvC3…
Hsien Ko’s on my team no matter how terrible she is. Forever and always. Character loyalty is getting me KILLED in this game but I’ve always been loyal to a character I’ve decided to main regardless of tiers, and I ain’t about to stop now.
I’ll see your character loyalty and raise you brand loyalty. Team Darkstalkers for life!
Same, same. I’ve played fighters since WW (not very seriously until more recently), but I’m definitely no old man/sensible player when it comes to character loyalty (I’ve gotten fortunate up until this point; don’t let me down UMvC3/DS4/SFxT/Skullgirls). So Hsien-Ko it shall be, through thick and thin. Though, here’s to a more successful and fun future.
I’m 2/3 Darkstalkers I like Morrigan but I don’t really get along with her play style sadly, maybe UMvC3 will change that :3
I just play characters I find fun and interesting :3 If I didn’t the game gets old real quick and I lose interest in playing it.
Loyal to the dead girl all the way! With umvc3 coming out, there’s so many zombie-related characters I wanna try out with chris, nemesis, h-ko and frank. Somehow I hope there will be a way to take family photos with frank… >_>
Ya’ll are making me feel bad for dropping her after week one :shake:
Everyone is can make their own decisions regarding character choices and teams. Dropping Lei Lei would probably be the smart thing in the long run if you can’t handle losing constantly. I know I kind of hit my limit at 4th lord and the game had me extremely pissed at the beginning because I thought I was doing something wrong…
I’m pretty sure all Hsien-ko players are character loyalist. What other incentive would there be to use her besides how adorable she is?
Yeah I dunno, I’m w/ Jamp here. I mained her till late May and pretty much just haven’t played the game since. I love the character design and all, but mained her in VS because she was fun to play as. She’s not so much fun to play as in MvC, and if I had dropped her early on I’d probably have liked the game a little more.
It really doesn’t have much to do with winning or losing either. I’m pretty cool with mid-low tier characters. Just man, slow, floaty and super easy to punish when you so much as look at the opposing player funny aren’t exactly a barrel of laughs.
If I’m going to enjoy UMvC3 I’ll probably be looking elsewhere unless we get hit over the head with a pendulum we can cancel and a faster air dash. Probably find a place on an alt team for her regardless.
It’s awesome some of you guys are able to stay so loyal though! Keep fighting the good fight! Maybe I’m just not masochistic enough. o_o;
