I don’t know. Like I said, the one mystery character kinda has me thinking Baron Mordo. Dr. Strange has always been traveling to other dimensions, and maybe his nemeses, Mordo and Dormammu, have something to do with the different worlds coming together.
yeah pretty much this i remember that exact episode brings back memories.
i don’t think its dumb as it limits character space and time for just the fantastic 4 when you can have them all in 1 character. Sides interviews already confirmed no FF and its pretty damn obvious that that’s super skrull its nothing you can do to fight against it not being him.
Also in the kotaku live podcast they said no character is exempt from being in the game. He said every character is at their disposal, capcom just must not have wanted them smart move to me.
I don’t think there’s any issue with the FF as far as legal rights are concerned. If I recall correctly, they were being considered half way into production. What I assume their problem though was that the group basically has to get in as a group. You can’t really have one without the others. Dr. Doom and Super Skrull for all intents and purposes are FF characters, so the whole notion that they can’t get in for legal reasons is really dumb.
Also I seriously doubt that Baron Mordo will make the cut if Dormammu is making it in, because its just too many characters from that one series. I’m almost certain that spiky-shoulders mystery character who doesn’t seem to have his head on fire is just Dormammu with his head…uh…not on fire.
Oh, my bad. I meant Story strength reflected as in-game strength. Using a character’s back story and “power” as a basis for the game’s setting is acceptable (though, a bit hypocritical). So yeah, using the magical realm as a reasoning for the game possible is absolutely ok, albeit cliche.
those ??? marks in the other pic can be moved if they havent already thats seth look at sfiv character pic. i dont kno why anyone would argue that.
??? is a Marvel character xero.
You can say that he is F4 rolled up in one, but he really doesn’t represent the members too well as far as fighting style, the only person I can see him fighting like is a suped up Mr. Fantastic. Yeah, he’ll have the same powers but still, that’s like putting in hulk and not putting in anymore strong guys because “he basically has all their powers”.
Still not seeing why Skrull being in must include the Fantastic 4.
Shuma-Gorath was in previous VS games, and not once was there anyone else from the Strange series opposing him; same can be said about Blackheart as well–who was mainly Ghost Rider/Daredevils villain. And Hulk is a different example altogether.
Does anyone really care about Shuma-Gorath? I hate him and I don’t mind seeing him go. I hope they bring back Silver Samuari tho. With him being in the new Wolverine movie it only makes sense.
This goes in the pantheon of worst internet arguments ever.
Also I’m now inclined to believe that the ??? guy is the Mandarin.
ooohhh… PWNgoated! /filler
If marvel is trying to actively market many of their ‘smaller’ characters to hollywood (they’re aiming for movies that cost low amounts of money), as well as current movie endeavours, it would make sense to see Luke Cage, several Iron Man enemies, Doctor Strange, and many others
I couldn’t find a version of the Mandarin with those kinds of spikey things on his shoulders. That’s who I thought it was at first, and then I remembered Mordo. If anyone can find me a better character with those protrusions, I’d be happy to consider them.

Yeah but since you’re dealing with a silhouette those may not be comming from his shoulders. It could be a bulky robe. The two reasons I think it’s Mandarin are both tied to the hand. #1 He’s got claws/nails. I don’t recall Mordo having those. Also he seems to be proud of his hand. Mandarin holding up his rings would seem to make sense there.
Wait, how do we know the ??? guy is a Marvel character?
Dormammu definitely has claws… and it would make sense for the silhouetted characters to be the same in both pictures. His new suit has the shoulders pointing up, like in this picture. Here he’s holding up his hand, and you can see the claws. I would guess the in game model has his new costume design as seen on the red picture, but the artist for the white one wanted to draw him in his original costume. I’m now 100% convinced it’s him, he has his hand up in like every single picture I can find of him online.
It appears with the Marvel logo at the beginning.
It was an example, not an argument. I guess it was a bad one, but basically my point was that if they were to put in the F4 none of them would really fight like Super Skrull in the game. The ??? guy looks like Seth to me, but if it’s a Marvel character I’m stumped for now. I doubt it’s Dormammu because the silhouette doesn’t share a flaming head.
The lack of flames doesn’t make much sense, but I don’t see why they would have every other character be the same in each picture, then randomly switch Dormammu for Mandarin or Mordo or whoever else it could be in one of them. Not to mention that if it had flames, it would be a perfect match.
Nevermind, he can turn off the flames, as seen here. I guess the flames come on and off during the gameplay.
Well perhaps its a matter of the graphical effect that makes the flame.
