Not really. The scaling, from what I saw, is fairly strict.
Looks like you can get multiple FBs to juggle but they don’t have the umph behind them and they don’t juggle the same way. It looks like how someone would program them to juggle in MUGEN. They should still flip, not just bounce. It really looks like they just put in all his moves and concepts merely for the visual and didn’t look into what made him an awesome character in UMK3. I saw some nonsense stuff that just didn’t look solid or linkable but I guess we really have to just wait and see, there’s been very little blocking in the demos.
Fighting game developers don’t understand how their games are played at a high level, and for a game like UMK3 with a pretty small following even moreso. One hope here is that Boon, for all his faults, does actually listen to fans. If you make him aware of the fact that a competitive UMK3 scene exists there’s a chance he might be receptive to your input.
He doesn’t care that a competitive UMK3 scene exists. If he saw he would probably think we made our own game out of it.
Haha probably. I remember an old interview back for like MKD. They were talking about characters and Kitana was brought up. He said something like, “In MK2, the players took her and were doing all kinds of crazy stuff.”
To Boon, combos and set-ups are just “crazy stuff”…
after seeing that new footage, mk9 is getting me so hyped right now. The ex ray damage is gonna be serious but it’s gonna be hard to set up as they just kina let them do that x-ray to them to show it off, so i’m sure it won’t be as easy to pull it off unless it’s gonna be combo’d into.
I was watching a bit. What version of MAME are you using so the character select screen isn’t all fucked up?
Were those matches recorded at all?
that won’t happen when all the retards are talking mostly about fatalities and shit
i wish they’d just copy more shit from SF… they can’t go very wrong with that. also include some drastic scaling a la SF4 just to avoid stupidity
If you wanna play Street Fighter you know where to go. If boon is going to get advice from anyone I’d rather it be from the MK2 and UMK3 players.
Anyway, I’ve had a look at the videos and it seems you have wakeup options after being knocked down. If you look above your Super meter it sometimes say 'Recovery or ‘Wakeup Attack’. The Recovery seemed like the Ukemi from SF3 or the recover from Garou. Nice to know we have a few more options getting up from the floor.
SF2 pretty much started the whole genre dipshit. You want to call everything SF2 started “street fighter shit?”
Tight links, just frames, and generally strict timing is something you’ll find in a lot of fighters. SF2 laying down the foundation of what fighters would become does not make whatever attribute you can link back to SF2 “street fighter shit.”
And lol, join dates are back.
Shrug, seems worth expending the minimal effort to shoot him an email with your credentials, a link to a website/youtube and a few suggestions, compared with the alternative of doing nothing.
I agree with this statement whole-heartedly. From that, I would be fine with just Shao Khan as the last boss too. We don’t even need the manbeasts.
Just give me shiva and I’m happy
What happened with ST Akuma? :clown:
Actually, SF1 and Yie Air Kung Fu, and for the most particular, Heavyweight Champ, started the genre.
That’s why I qualified it with “pretty much.” It wasn’t the first but SF2 was a major milestone in the development of the genre.
I hope they remove the block button
that shit is retarded
If they get rid of the block button, it wouldn’t really be Mortal Kombat. That’s like telling a Street Fighter fan that they shouldn’t have to hold back to block anymore…
Also we have already had this discussion in this thread and it went nowhere the first time. Just like the Run button debate.
How about not playing it?
That’s Kira. She made her debut in MK:Deception aka MK6.
I’m not sure how this new alternate timeline will work out [Liu Kang supposedly did not win 4 straight MKs and maybe 1 or more cyber-Ninja was not automated atleast according to Boon]
