New mortal kombat is coming

i kno cage did for a fact. lemme see if anyone else did.

Is it me or does the super gauge of the character that’s in battle get drained when using tag assists? Johnny’s red shadow kick & red flash kick are Ex’s.

sub zero looks like he can squeeze in a slide after his xray move.

same goes for mileena ( throw a sai) and nightwolf maybe (lightning?)

definitely this.

Gamespot has the stream up now:

MK at EVO? A snap

It looks like it costs meter to do everything except an ordinary tag. Both assists and the tag+attack cost 1/3.

That gamespot demo sold me. If they can just tune the hits/animation. It’s mostly the jumping attacks that look really stiff. Imagine if they had sf4 level animation with mk gore *drool *

I see the damage varies on close kom… xray. Scorpion 3hit 39% vs. Reptile’s 3hit 41% Close kombat with RAGE damage.

Looks like ground recovery to me. (And I don’t know what you mean with ‘manual charging’)
Also , don’t bother asking the reason behind sub zero’s instant gauge fillup . It was probably a little cheat the developers did so that we would see the x ray move. (Or more ex moves , so that the game seems more flashy)

Also , Boon & Co went bankrupt in 2009 , so maybe now that they have the huge corporate bosses of Warner Bros over their heads … maybe they will plan things more carefully… Maybe that’s why it’s taking so long for this game to come out.

It’s not klose kombat. The klose kombat thing was a weird throw that involved a game of rock/paper/scissors between both players. It was useless considering the attacking player could end up taking some damage from it and I’m glad to see it go. The X-Ray moves look to be straight up SFIV style ultras with the dynamic camera and everything.

Ah. I meant manual charging like in S-groove where you have to charge your own meter but you’re probably right and they have a cheat in the E3 build.

It’s no secret that Midway had been taking on water for years. And since MK was their cash cow they probably pushed for the titles to come out very quickly. Now that Boon & Co. are at WB which is much more financially stable the suits might be a bit more willing to let the team take time to polish things up. I can imagine the Midway bosses telling Boon to hurry things up for the holiday season each year.

I’m fully aware it’s not close kombat. It just retains the initial grab to activate, close up feature with dramatic hits minus counters, and massive damage from RAGE. Recycled revamped feature.

I don’t think it does, actually. Scorpion’s looked like it was a teleport punch that activated it, Sub’s looked like a ground freeze, and Sektor’s looked like a missile. Hell, Johnny Cage’s looks like a parry. They don’t all look like “walk up and try to grab them.” Looks like they’re all individual supers that just happen to have a similar X-Ray theme.

Actually, you’re completely wrong. They’re not grabs. They’re supers with varying properties from character to character. For example, Johnny Cage’s X Ray is a counter move, like Fei and Cammy’s U2’s. The whole X Ray thing is simply aesthetics.

Can’t.Freaking.Wait.

NVM I guess they were dashing around a bit. Just didn’t notice it the first time around. Bah MK is freaking back, and good. What the hell am I typing? Too excited!

Guess I need to watch those vids again. So xray came from another Midway game IIRC.

Feels a bit like you’re afraid you’ll wake up and remember that this E3 all they really showed was MK Deception 2, right? Only to shrug your shoulders and say “Typical Boon” and curse your awesome dream. It’s definitely surreal that after completely throwing in the towel and figuring MK was never going to come around that they pull this shit over the course of three days.

So the one thing that I didn’t really like that much was that (correct me if I’m wrong) it looks to me like you only build meter when you’re getting hit, but it’s really only a minor gripe.

It’s a wrap…

Holy shit, that looks way better than the trailer. I can’t wait to get this game right away. It wasn’t jerky, clunky, or clipping. That was awesome.
