New MBAA PS2 Thread! Final Round 14 Around the Corner! FREE MBAACC Update This Spring

Anyone else having trouble with Melty Bread today?

My password is only working on the screen after it says I got it wrong and the site keeps saying “session timed out” when attempting to post, also having to delete cookies to sign out since it says I need to try logging out and logging in again to do it.:wtf:

Also heres hoping Melty makes it into Evo and other tournaments start recognising it as well.

So I’m pretty much gonna order this game either later this week or next week, so I popped MBAC in the PS2 to try and get some practice and man I’m having way too much fun

Not a main tournament but it looks like we aregoing to have Melty run at SvB.

So any Melty fans in the UK (I know there are at least 4 of us) get moderately hype.

The main thing that turns me off Melty Blood is the lack of any meaningful local competition (and more importantly, interest) in the game in my area. I realize that the issue of travel will obviously pop up at that statement, but I’m sorry, I’m not nearly hype enough for MB to drive more than 2 hours (one-way, I can deal with 4 hours round-trip as long as caffeine is involved, but more than that would be pushing it) to play it as a serious, primary thing. I get a lot more bang for my buck playing SF4/CvS2, which are games I enjoy more (yes, even SF4, you may start groaning now) AND that I believe I have a brighter future in. (Even though CvS2 has no future to speak of…)

The Tiger Uppercut stuff is almost entirely facetious. I’m not actually looking for a character who plays a similar Tiger Shot/Tiger Uppercut game. Really, the only Sagat I actually play as is CvS2 K-Sagat, who really doesn’t play the traditional Sagat games at all.

The main criteria I look for in a MB character is a low execution barrier (which F-Ries definitely provides) and, petty as it is, a character that I would feel proud to play as in front of other human beings. Sion’s personality doesn’t really excite me, and she’s a bit on the girly side for my liking. I just couldn’t say with any kind of pride that I play H-Sion, no matter what kind of results I get. Ciel might be a possibility, even though I haven’t played her since the original Melty Blood, but I think I’ve found my comfort zone with Ries/Nero/Kouma and I’m not really eager to stray from it. (The three manliest characters in the game…)

And if it makes you feel better, I’d rather play a Sion than an Akiha. But that’s not really saying much.

I very much doubt I’ll be lacking for information. Interest is the main thing I lack. Unless Orlando or Tampa suddenly and inexplicably falls in love with MBAA, I’m not really going to take the game that seriously.

I’ve had that problem for a while now. I’ll enter my password and login, and then the screen will try to change pages but instead it loads a blank white page. Hitting F5 gets rid of the problem, but it is a bit annoying.

The next step is Arcana Heart 3 at EVO and the world really will come to an end.

will be playing this within the next 24 hours. let me see what this is all about. besides the charcters, i cant say i never liked the way it seemed to play to me. my type of fast paced shit. so we’ll see. if it wins, i wanna at least be able to enjoy watching it on the big screen because i know whats going on.

Who thought of those “Vote, My Lord” avatars? Sooo good.

Would you believe that the idea came up in the SRK anime IRC channel? Yup. It just so happened in our everyday conversation.

MB is one of those animu games

Seriously, the Meltevony avatars are the best thing I’ve ever seen on SRK.

And yeah, playing this game on an emulator is a miserable thing.

emu isn’t actually bad if you have a decent PC and get the settings right. 60fps in 480p mode and you won’t notice much difference unless going for the very tight links.

Before we even begin to think about AH3 at EVO we gotta worry about TROLLXamu putting out a decent port for the game. :haha:

Why not just buy the game?

Because it’s typical #srkanime.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like a different problem but mine fixed itself overnight anyway. (Don’t have a clue how)

Well, the other hurdle is a PS2 that can run import games  Which is currently the issue I’m having. I own MB:AA but my ps2 is bust :[

Though I can run MB:AA with only a few sound issues on my PC.

Swap Magic? Modchip?

I did buy the game. Emu is convenient when you want to get some practice in without going through the rat’s nest of cables connected to the TV switchbox in order to hook up the PS2. It is important to support the developers, and I don’t really feel bad about using an emu or a burned copy for the ps2 while the original sits in its box on my shelf.

Neither of those can do shit when your chipped PS2 has taken a 5 foot fall to hardwood floor. It’ll get replaced, but in the meantime I’ll have to play that (and Hokuto No Ken, and Vampire ;_:wink: on my PC.
