I voted for this game even though I never played AA and my fav and best game is 3s.
So there.
3s just too lame at EVO and the game wont die if the community keeps the scene going by making their own majors for the game. Like how Vampire Hunter/Savior is kept going in Japan now even though it was in SBO just 1 year by having the Darkstalkers Combination Cup.
I was just asking because I simply can’t imagine trying to practice PS2 gen fighters on my laptop via emu and was wondering how people would put up with it. I didn’t say anyone was a pirate or anything; just kinda wondering why one would do that in lieu of the real thing. To me, its so much easier.
Of course a broken PS2 can’t do anything, but we both know that’s not at all what I was referring to.
If there were noticeable differences in performance I wouldn’t do it, but it seems I am able to take what I do and apply into ps2 version without issues. It’s all about convenience: an hour here and there when you don’t have access to a TV or lack the motivation to set up for that training mode
I had to tinker with the emu for like 3 days to get it running perfectly, but ive got MBAA running on a solid 60 FPS on everything but the vs screen, which chugs a bit still. No noticeable input lag, so im happy. Easier then getting swapmagic disc, plus i can still play while someone else is grinding on the PS2. Win-Win scenario.
As for those who try the emu and it runs like crap for them, dont stop tinkering. There are a butload of settings you can turn on and off to boost performance. When i first ran it, i couldn’t crank out 30FPS for normal gameplay. Now it almost runs as good as a real ps2. Keyword: almost.
Huh, I tried running MBAA on emu and MBAC pc simultaneously. I press shield and they come out practically the same time. The one thing bothering me is MBAA sound lags a lot, and sometimes I’m reliant on sound ques for combos.
theres no PERFECT sound setting that we know of so far, but we’ve managed to tweak it to not lag at all and still have relatively good quality. (sound better then my TV normally does anyway)
Scroll down to the section of Sabator’s post where he addresses sound configurations. The entire thread has a ton of fixes and tweak suggestions to make the emu run better for MBAA.
To someone who wants to attempt to become decent at this game, which would be the best character to start off with? If that matters at all that is, I’ve just always messed around with a mess of people cus they all happaned to be fun :P.
if youre trying to decide between a couple specific chars, you can post who those are and someone can prolly tell you the differences between them to help you make a choice. otherwise, i recommend just playing the char you want to play from the start because as you learn the game youre going to want to collect as much matchup specific info as possible. and at a basic level, no one is too complicated that you cant ‘learn’ the game with them. so pick your main, stick to him/her, and go from there.
