For anyone in the Midwest, we in the Indianapolis community are running a tournament on January 30, 2010.
Due to the lower-than-expected interest for BlazBlue we are considering adding MBAA as an official tournament, provided that enough people show interest. Even if you aren’t 100% sure if you can make it please post in the thread to say you are interested in MBAA.
Even if there aren’t enough people for an official tournament I would still be willing to run a side tournament and/or play some casuals. It would be awesome if we could make this happen, I know the midwest scene is not as big as other areas but there are some Ohio and Michigan players that might be able to come.
I’d probably have to try meeting up with someone in Windsor/Detroit (shardZ?) and ride with them the rest of the way, but other than that I suppose it’s feasible even if no one else from Canada is attending.
I can’t make any promises b/c I don’t really know much about streaming, but…
If someone has some links… how to’s… on internet streaming, recommended streaming sites to use. I can look into figuring something out for this tourney. I think/hope my laptop is capable. (for FF)
Is there a consensus on which moon style is the best for Chaos?
I believe that was more of a general problem with people saying they would be able provide equipment and not coming through so we had to scramble for setups at the last minute. Everyone’s over it by now.
One of the local players who might be picking up the game was most interested in playing nero, I just play him for fun. F-Nero amuses me the most but I miss the deer.
Could someone list some pros/cons of each moon style for Akiha and/or Kohaku? Assume that I know close to nothing about the game (I don’t know anything about the mechanics that come along with each moon).
I checked the wiki on MBread but it only has combos listed and a few normals for F.
Akiha’s wall combo seems harder to me now (not talking about IAD).
I need to practice that shit. Least the midscreen bnb still serves me well from AC. :lovin:
Also I figured out how to get j.B,J.C AC consistent now (I used to do j.a,j.b since it works all the time on everyone) for my C.Ries. When I launch with reverse beat 5A, I need to do it twice to get the height just right. Its the small stuff that makes the difference. Although launching with 236A there is no way to alter the height on that so I’ll stick with j.a,j.b…maybe see if j.a, j.c works like HFblade was suggesting. Though I normally only launch with 236A when there’s distance issues.
I forgot to ask earlier, I recently picked up a ps2 stick and have been trying to relearn MBAA and GG on it. I can IAD fine in GG with the usual 96 or 99 input, but when I try to do it in MBAA it doesn’t work most of the time. However, it does work if I use 696 or even 23696. Does IAD work differently in MB or am I just retarded?
No you’re right bro. I’m so used to IAD in GG; its not the same with MB.
I remember someone telling me most people “TK” the airdash in MB, particularly with Akiha 2C or other airborne attacks that have a directional input.
That’s gotta be it, because no matter how much I quicken or slow down the IAD motion normally like in GG it doesn’t seem to affect the floaty decent at all.
If you’re trying to do like j.c dj.c airdash j.c that doesn’t work in Full Moon because it doesn’t have airdash cancels. If that’s not the issue then ignore this!
