I thought he was just trying to do safe df palm to bait a reversal O_o
Hmmm very good run down of Akuma’s options there in the vortex situation, thanks for that Evans. You guys make us Fei players proud!
Hm, good call on that. I figured that Tokido simply didn’t want to go into a Vortex as a matter of preference in his playstyle, but then again avoiding a mix-up routine isn’t something that most pro players do if they have the chance. I guess then damage isn’t the true goal of U2 at all–at least not they way you guys relied on it. Very good point about that
I’m glad the real fei players are learning to utilize his tools instead of the negative outlook that many have. I’m really impressed how the u2 has worked out so far to shut down the characters with beastly vortex.
Got in a few more matches a couple days ago before heading out to work. I used ultra 1 during these matches but will try to get ultra 2 in against some other players who like to use characters like Viper and Akuma sometime next week.

Just want to say I hate challenging Balrog in online matches. Guess I have to just learn the spacing against Balrog and learn how to react against those random dash punches. Can I punish Balrog’s dash punches on block with rekkaken?
My Fei Long vs FlashM’s Makoto. About 9:58- 15:50 i think. Theres more but i have to look. From the Option-select.com Stream last night.
i like that focus forward dash read in the first match there, also does it surprise any1 else how often the tenshin on the opponents wakeup catches ppl?
I apologize for my poor Fei play for any of those who saw the Power-Up stream. Nerves got the best of me. I’ll post the video here as soon as it gets up.
Despite that bad match i still placed somewhere in the top 10 so it wasn’t a total loss.
Well, Fei is a tough character to master. He sure as hell is fun though!
Was the match between Inthul vs Sabin(Seth) at ECT2 ever posted? That was one of the most exciting matches I’ve ever seen…it was not on the FADC channel…and I just have to wonder why…
I would say you all play extremely differently because Mago rushes down like a mother fucker and it’s relentless. I think play styles also come into play in matchups. I also don’t like absolutes because I feel because of play style the top 3 players will usually vary… Still, you all rape.
Starnab and Evans are better than Mago for one simple reason: even though mago’s execution is through the roof, his knowledge of matchups is slightly worse than those two. He hasn’t played Fei long enough (pun unintended) to know every single thing there is to know about matchups. Then again, he knows the characters inside out… So he probably can deduce what’s good and what isn’t versus most of the cast.
But his knowledge on console characters is still shitty. When was the last time you saw him in a match vs Gen or Sakura?
He probably gets his share playing online, but his knowledge is smaller in that department.
Also, starnab and evans hit confirm WAY more than he does. Mago always goes for s.fierce after CW, or c.jab if he lands too far. Starnab and Evans pull off way more c.lk xx s.lp > c.lp xx rekkas.

Awesome stuff!!! Freakin hate Rose’s backdash on wakeup!!! Time to punish that shit! :annoy:
wow, thank you!
- Enjoy. I’ve also been searching for that vid and finally it’s posted. Gotta love Chris Hu’s commentary on this one. He was really into the match too.
Wow awesome option selects!!! What are the inputs to do these???
cr. short (input secondary option quickly) cr.short.
second short comes out on 1st short connecting on block or hit.
secondary option comes out if 1st short wiffs
works the same way as optiuon select jump ins. block or hitstun delay loses sub option if you input it fast enough, making the second short come out
Awesome! Thanks! TO THE LAB!!!
Actually, there’s a little more to it.
The Ultra one anyway. You input the meaty cr.short and the Ultra input with the same timing as a chain. If the cr.short hits or is blocked, the PPP input for the Ultra becomes a st.jab because that’s the only punch button that will chain after the cr.short. This means you only have to input a further cr.jab xx Rekka to hit confirm. If they backdash, the Ultra comes out.
The other ones work on a similar principle.
