Hmmm . . . I do understand the “pay to play” feature, but online MONEY matches are going to be very difficult to regulate. Especially when some asshat decides not to pay up. As for membership, do you mean like SRK’s “premium member” title? In that case, we’d need crazy cool coverage like interviews of Hayao telling us his favorite cupcake recipe or something. Hopefully, the site will simply generate enough clicks to attract advertising offers to help it pay for itself. Also, it would be great if the site had separate budgets for all sorts of events during the ordinary course of business: server expenses, emergency website expenses, stupid lawsuits, blah blah. I did have a thought about sponsoring 3S tourneys. My idea was like adding $500 to Devestation’s or Final Round’s already prevalent 3S following. That would get the website’s name out there rather quickly. Then again, hitting the SRK front page would be the most effective way to get noticed. The entire world checks that page alone. That being said, let’s hope the website’s content gets noticed fairly quickly and that it picks up a really decent and constant following.

I honestly would hate a membership feature (paying money to go premium). The site isnt even released yet and is nowhere near being an official goto site yet. Having any kind of premium membership feature will lead people away.
Online money tournaments should not be done either, theres legal reasons for that and when theres something physical on the line people may be prone to follow through with legal threats.
Money tournaments should only be held offline at some sanctioned event.

At least before it was more than being able to have your own threads to talk shit about non-premies. Before Preppy would give exclusive access to vids on his site and such but it’s nothing like that anymore. There are always going to be within the community yes, but actively separating one bunch of the community from another and making that chunk of the information that much more difficult to access is kinda counter productive in regards to a community that is looking to nurse a dying animal back to health.
Stick with the base for now and worry about the little details later on. That’s my take on it, sorry if I came off like an asshole.
If you need to make money THAT bad, why not throw a Grand Opening Tournament in the beginning and sell the DVDs?
Everything should be free. Lol at making a totally new website and charging for anything we offer. The site only costs $10, everybody is putting in their work and contributions for free.

Ok, I had to check right before studying.
I think that’s a no go for any kind of pay-to-play/view feature. Really now, The Shend hasn’t charged any of us one cent for his efforts. I’d honestly like to follow that route. Any money to be acquired should come through internet ads and donations.

Thanks again guys for the feedback and voicing your concerns. The community participation is a big aspect of this new site as its a community site created by the fans for the fans. My ambition with this site to create the definitive 3s experience on net for everyone’s benefits, and personally speaking seeing the amount of interest and contributions thus far over the site is more then enough payment for me.
Keep in mind that this is only the content building phase and nothing outside the name has been finalized. We all have great idea’s and making them all work in the context of this new site will be a process so just know that nothing I suggest will be on the actual site unless otherwise stated. With that said I will do my best to deliver on making a quality site that we can all enjoy, as always thanks for the suggestions and the help and stay tuned for more updates.
Also when I get back home I be purchasing the domain so hopefully things can start going into motion by the time the day is done.
