I originally wanted to suggest yomi.com, but then I found out that freaking SIRLIN games went and MADE a board game that simulates fighting games. The game even describes “yomi” as mind-reading in the correct competitive context. It would be a pain in the ass if sirlingaming decided to simply accuse this forum of stealing the name of their board game that isn’t selling well.
Hey, yall want to give it a few more days for 3S name suggestions? When do you want to finally do the poll? There are some people who posted earlier, but haven’t gotten back for some reason or another. I would hate to leave their suggestions out b/c they’re working or in the hospital or something.

While I was thinking of doing a poll, unfortunately time is a issue here since some of my staff are very short for time as it is so things have to get under production ASAP. I appreciate all the name suggestions and some of them are quite good but for time constraint and just to get some focus back on the actual conent, I think I will just name the site “3s Empire”. I hope that is good enough for the community and while I would have liked redparry.com the domain owner wasnt getting back to me and Im not sure how long he would take along with the other domain owners. Welcome to 3s empire:)

Don’t worry. What about using the other popular names for designated sections in the website? The names that didn’t make the cut could be titles for the subsections. OK? 
3SEmpire sounds pretty good, if the owner of red parry responds, we could also switch to that domain in the future and/or hold both of the domains. Does anybody with a capture card want to record the official 3SEmpire online tournaments? We will be using a custom tournament bracket (modified http://challonge.com/) embedded in the site and tournaments will be a huge part of the site. Having a 24/7 stream like SRKLive would be HUGE! If anybody is nice enough and willing to do some sort of extended stream of player matches (endless battle on 3so), that would be lovely and would easily make us a top site in the street fighter scene.
OP before buying the domain 3SEmpire, lets wait a few hours and ask the people of the thread.

I’d assume 3rd Strike Online Edition would be used for online tourneys. Cool thing about that is the Youtube uploading. Not 100% sure if it’d work, but I wonder if one person can just save all the replays, and upload those to youtube directly from 3SOE. The downside is that you probably need to use 2-3 videos just for one match.
Sure. Redparry or Gigasbreaker would be cooler, but I’ve no real issue with 3SEmpire.

Just because this is a nerdy thing, doesn’t mean you can’t try and make it sound cool. Stuff like brokentier and all the new FGC stuff is trying to make fighting games seem mainstream.
I’m not saying 3sempire is too nerdy or anything, but no harm trying to make it fresh and not a generic site.
As for the 24/7 stream, does that really exist for any other game (besides starcraft and wow)?
The easiest for start-up would probably be indexing all of the important places that have 3S. First, of course, being www.youtube.com/user/theshend & then gameversus.net’s stream & KOW’s stream & Europe’s streams. Then after that somehow construct a stream schedule.
Also, we should probably test out and let CAPCOM work out all of the online bugs before we dedicate ourselves to a 24/7 stream. To do that, we’d definitely need European, Japanese, Australian, Asian, south american, & where ever else contribution to so alternating regions can sleep. Or is what I said exactly what you had in mind?
All the tournaments will be held on OE. However we would need to incorporate a bracket in the website otherwise nobody would know what the results were on the website! Video uploads for matches will be very easy. Just upload to Youtube directly from 3SO. And just share the embedded video on the website.
Well SRKLive has a 24/7 stream and I wanted something like that for this site. What you said is a great idea and we can have scheduled streams instead. Theshend already gave us permission to use his videos and we will but I really want to break away from existing 3s videos (nothing wrong with them) and just use 3sO videos.

Kudos if you really got those guys to agree just ask UltraDavid to stop bashing the game while commentating for SF4. That won’t help the site grow at all. I would like to offer my help in the Ken Section and maybe art sections but I don’t think my art should go anywhere on the front page. I don’t know what else you’d need help with. Maybe eventually we could make some sort of third strike site app, but right now I’m still a code newbie.
I think the best way to market this site would be a zen kung fu master feeling. If you’ve ever spoken to any of the true 3s pros, like amir and 5star, you’d notice that their attitudes towards the game are very much like half Pai Mei half Kung Fu’s David Carradine. I’ll see if I can come up with a few sketches.
I get it, but The Shend does post up to date stuff. He scours Nico Nico for danisen vids and such. Yeah, it’s not OE, but it’s definitely footage of the 3S gods.

I have people who handle streaming, ill give then a shout and see if they can help. Ill be heading out now but im pleased with the progress thus far. Hopefully this site can get up by next week.
Before i go how do people feel about a membership feature and onlije money tournaments?
I was hoping 3s empire could host tournaments eventually, sponsored events down the line.
