Seriously though I cant wait for the 1st official online tourny, and as for the facebook thing my suggestion is just go with whatever you guys are comfortable with.
if u do this, id laugh my ass off. we should hold some “play with the staff” events like xbox live’s “play with the developers” where users can play with all of the participating staff for a scheduled time. we could stream it along with the tournaments and give users incentives to keep coming back. i really want to make the website into a community based within the game and not necessarily the site since like many ppl said b4, we have the srk forums.
yep already working on it. The media section with the youtube integration will come in the beta revision but ive been working on it already.

yeah sure np man. i will be incoporating youtube in the alpha version but its not going to be the full system we will use in the beta version. just simple tests first like the leaderboard test in the alpha revision.
this would be awesome. the graphic designer wouldnt have to create much. just a logo and background for the website and possibly some banners in the future if (s)he chooses to.
UPDATE ON THE SITE
I’ve started working on Alpha 2.0 Revision. I scrapped Alpha 1.0 and started on 2.0 about an hour ago. I don’t have much on it yet but the alpha revision will be a clear indicator of what the complete revision will look like since we will be building off of that now. If you guys like it, we can keep it. If not, we can change it. I’ve been testing features in the alpha site briefly and things need to be modified a bit before Alpha release. Features that I can promise you guys in the Alpha Revision.

Yeppers. . . . I’m getting the wiki-source code from wiki.srk and I’m simply pasting it in. I’ve done every character now.
Gill was so little in info that I added my own thoughts.
On every page I moved the modified 3s template to the top of the page for easier navigation b/t characters.
When I pasted Yun’s stuff, the Wiki loses it’s border and overlaps the info =(
Wiki has a few glitches, but it’s all good.
Black, did you join the facebook group? I was asking for a character template that would fit BETA. If you could scan the Ryu page, which is the most complete, it would give you an idea of the mass of info. I was thinking about collapse/expand items, or maybe separate pages, or hover-overs for the pictures so they can be minimized on the entire page, or pop-up on click for huge tables, etc. Some way to compress the page. Maybe all of it should be in it’s own little window so you can scroll-up and down, but still see the main navigation stuff. Any ideas for organizing?
This is how I envision the How To section. The initial how to section will be very similar to the starcraft guide, beginner guide, techniques, character pages, etc. All pages will have a clickable drop down categories incorporated into them so that it doesn’t feel like ur reading a lot since ur not scrolling down. From the initial how to section there is also a button for character pages. You click this and it will take you to a custom character selection screen from 3SO (has to be from 3so) where we will animate it in flash so that when you put your cursor over a character, it appears as if your picking a character in the real game. Click your character and it will have the same layout as all the other pages, with clickable drop down categories.
I will help with the character content a bit myself when i get the chance and yeah i noticed that it has some bugs too. im not too concerned with them really since were not going to be using it in the beta revision. its just temporary.
no i havent joined the facook group, id like to tho. whats the link? well to be honest the character selection page will have to wait till after the game is released so we can cap a screen of it and make a flash character select like i described in my previous quote.
I know, theres so much info for Ryu its not even funny. I don’t know how to use wiki much but we could just use srk’s navigation for now since its effective. During the alpha stage, I will be implementing the character content into the main site. It just wont be finished until beta and/or all the how to information is complete. Since the wiki is temporary, dont worry too much about the navigation. just make sure people are able to navigate through it.

sorry forgot about your question. leaderboards will be run through the tournament brackets. we will create a database for the leaderboards and will have custom tournament bracket which allows the official tournament recorder to “submit” which will automatically update the leaderboards. At the moment, I don’t know how many leaderboards we will have. But I feel like the only leaderboard which is necessary would be the “Official 3SEmpire Tournaments” which would be 2 for the 360 and the PS3.

Oh, I have pasted everything from srk’s wiki into it except for Sean’s stuff. Could you also fix Yun’s page? I don’t know what’s up with that. I want to go further into editing, but I don’t really want to do anything too detailed until there’s a template for the character pages. I guess I’ll start on the general 3S mechanics tomorrow.

ur right man, this would be awesome to do. but i dont see what we can do to make it practical. the reason i say that is because we cant have the actual game update the leaderboard. the results of the matches are user-entered. which means they could lie about the results and say they both won. and they would both go up in rank.
lmfao at the yun page, i dont know what happened there. im about to go to bed man, ill get it tomorow. the only thing u have to do is just make a new yun page and repaste the info (from the 3sempire wiki) into the new yun page, and delete the old one. this should resolve all problems that caused the bug in the first place. thanks so mcuh for ur help in the wiki man, i checked the history page and saw almost all of it was contributed by u. big help brah!

How 'bout a daily section of “Replay of the Day”?. Since 3SO will be having the Youtube upload feature, there will be plenty of material to make such section.
yep was planning on doing something like this. how do u guys think we should manage this? have a page on the site where users can submit their videos in hopes of making replay of the day? We can set it up like http://www.neoempire.com/ (“submit it to empire. send us your articles…”) and have it on the main page as a picture which is clickable. then it could be pooled together and selected by the staff. we can pick videos weekly and pick 7 videos at once, and restart the next week so its not much of a hassle.
I would have never thought of that! Awesome idea man, in order to submit the results. Both users must share the replay link in the submission box. This will prevent people sending older replays against the same user where they win. If a dispute happens, the judge will make the call.
What should we do for tournaments. We are going to have Player Tournaments and Official Tournaments. Official tournaments will be streamed and have replays uploaded so theres no dispute about who won/lossed. Also for tournaments I don’t we’ll have leaderboards for tournaments besides official? They player tournaments will not be using the challenge system and will just give users an ability to run their own tournament with their own brackets (not submitted to any leaderboard).

Hey, about prizes and such. Here’s my idea for a Grand Prize: a trip to a major 3S tourney
This is a really big idea for a prize. If tourneys become seasoned for every 3 months or so, the one with the most “points” at the END OF THE YEAR should win. Maybe a trip to Devestation or Final Round or whatever big 3S tourney pops up.
Again, the biggest issue will be LAG. 3SO better be spotless or at least bearable.
Alright, last message before I go to sleep. I really think a lot of the LAG comes from the US’s crappy internet infrastructure. It flat out sucks.
