I seriously don’t get why some people are crying about the netcode. After playing sfxt I can’t even touch sf4 anymore. I’ve even played Americans and a Mexican with barely any problems and I’m European, which is just amazing. With some sound this is easily capcom’s best netcode.
I love it when people reply as though it’s always, 100% of the time someone’s “bad” connection. Sorry, it’s not. Compared to every single fighting game I’ve played online in the last four years, this is easily the worst. The MvC3 code looks like playing offline compared to this.
…it’s either distance between the players or a bad connection 100% of the time. Playing on wireless, sharing your internet connection with another device, and having a bad ISP / bad internet quality in general are all part of being a bad connection.
Clearly there’s an issue here if some people have a good experience and others don’t. Looks like this netcode is good if your connection is strong, or stable, but if it’s average or worse the experience sucks, in comparison to other games on that same connection
Why couldn’t SF x T have a simple 1 on 1 player match lobby like UMVC3 with rematch, character select, exit, I hate endless battle because usually theres 3-6 people in the lobby same as AE.
UMVC3 wears the crown for online play
UMVC3>>SSF4AE>>KOF>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3rd Strike
SFxT
MK
Smooth does not equal playable. A playable yellow bar match in SF4 never occurred. You never played one. It didn’t happen. This is reality. You must accept this. SF4 online sucked. It was horrendous. The Atlantic Ocean is really big. Europe and America are not close to each other. It didn’t work. It sucked.
:arazz:
…I agree with you, but that has nothing to do with netcode.
I think this is the best netcode of any fighter I’ve played this gen. Even 2v2 can be decent. I don’t know why anyone would say it’s bad.
I know but thats my only complaint with SF x T other then that i like online apart from sound thing and scramble mode is just a cluster fuck super charge rape(ryu) is not as fun as the streams would have you believe. AE’s online I thought was good i played people with 1 red bar and had no lag ??? maybe it said red because they were in JP idk
I know there’s a difference in opinions but it seems so far experienced/technical players love the netcode in comparison to sf4 where as beginners/inexperienced players have the opposite opinion. There might be a small percentage that has bad internet which make a lot of matches unplayable , but I just assume for the most part that people who are complaining are most likely scrubs. No offense…
Ain’t we all scrubs at SF x T???
SSF4 has the best netcode so far(2d fighting games), overall I think it´s SC5! European internet>>>USA internet!
nope…beginner does not mean the same as scrub
Who are you responding to?
…anyone and everyone who posts anything in this thread that in anyway implies that SF4 had better online play.
The netcode is better than sf4… its the connections people have that are utter shit in North America. It caters nicely towards gimmicky crouching jab and nonstop jumping horseshit. My holding back+downback inputs dont even work sometimes. I just stand there getting crossed up while offline I can block things so much easier
I’m sure it’s better than sfiv if your connection is good, but for people with average connections, it is unplayable. Sfiv was not unplayable with my shit Internet.
I’ve played 2df, ggpo, hdr and 3so, I know how great rollback code is, its good even when the connection isnt great, but in those games when you play with a poor connection it’s not a complete stuttering clusterfuck of lost inputs and teleports like this is. why is that?
Hopefully this doesn’t screw with the quality of the netcode.
…I would be shocked if it didn’t.
…I believe you. I don’t have a problem with anyone requesting Capcom to implement better rollback based netcode.
The game seems to have a set delay level of 2f which would explain why it gets bad for folks with bad connections. Unlike GGPO where you could set your own delay level based on the quality of the connection.
