Netcode

There is definatly something wrong with the Xbox 360 in someway maybe it happens with the PSN aswell, but I seem to get disconnected everytime a match goes into the 2nd round or it lags extremely heavy, i’ve never had a problem with lag in any other game including SF4, I can’t even play with friends who are 15 Miles away because it just lags or disconnects, it even disconnects when watching them in endless battle getting to the 2nd round…Nightmare.

I’ve gotten over the sound bug and it doesn’t bother me anymore, but I seem to get this problem where things just seem to skip. It’s frustrating and I keep dropping my combos because of it. I have a wired connection and it’s literally right next to my PS3. I’m guessing it’s just other peoples connection…

Online play is very smooth but the wait between ranked matches is ridiculous! Sadly the matchmaking might be the reason i drop online for this unless it improves somehow.

Are you using fight request via arcade mode? This is the fastest way to get matches going just like in SF4. I’m getting ranked matches constantly even at 3am (litterally can’t even touch the first CPU opponent before an new opponent shows up).

Looks like we’ll be getting a patch for the audio bug…

I need that shit translated lol.

I think it says they’re aiming for getting the patch out in the middle of April? I could be wrong.

The post is coming up on Capcom Unity soon so we’ll have a real translation.

The blog post is out: http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/03/16/new_costumes,_gems,_patches_and_more_coming_to_street_fighter_x_tekken

I guess the sound fix will be coming with the tournament support patch…

I just got some LIVE after being off since Nov. Ungh, the sounds is unsettling. Better to put on the tv and raise the volume, and lower the 360 volume and lie to myself I cant hear it.
Also I get poor performance in general. Walk up throws, nothing, no whiffs. Or getting hit and try to switch out, and just stand there…

I tried playing a friend who lives a couple of miles away and it was much worse than sf4. Just trying to do a simple ground bounce combo was almost impossible. Reminded me a lot of how juggles were hard to time in tekken’s online

I’ve played the game online now and it’s got the shittest netcode I’ve ever played.

It’s just so stuttery and the opponent teleports around at close range so you can’t react to any up close pressure. Sf4 with input delay was more playable for me, at least I could tell what was happening. This is completely unplayable.

…yep, bad connections are unplayable.

Stop playing with bad connections.

If somehow, all you complainers make it so that Capcom drops rollback netcode and goes back to shitty SF4 style variable delay netcode, then all of you have inadvertently set the genre back by an entire decade.

…stop being a bad connection.

This is the truth btw.

The sad thing is companies will try and cater to those with not so great connections also which will continue to stunt the growth. I still hear people say how bad the connection for sfxtk is. And its great for me almost perfect. But I go out my way to make sure I don’t have to use a wireless connection at all. I don’t even like going through a router.

I can understand people who had dsl or just leave in area’s with crappy ISP’s it does suck… and they want to be able to play in some from online as well…Thats why people love the sf4 netcode.

its good as long as my internet is running well, then my internet dips? It’s slowmo hell. But I don’t blame the game.

Here’s the important bit - no form of netcode will ever magically take care of bad connections, not even rollback netcode.

That’s pretty much the point I was trying to get across.

Completely agreed… This netcode is shit…
