Netcode

Hi every1, so how is the netcode of this game right now??, like SSF4, better, or very good like SC5 or VF5?
Please compare with other games, instead of posting that is good or bad.

Thanks

Improved SSF4, seeing as some battles will be four way it better be.

the netcode is great, it feels really solid. there’s just a weird audio lag that’s happening at the moment. It’ll probably get patched come release though.

is there spectator mode?

All i wanted to hear.:clapdos:

It feels like ggpo. Little to no input delay but some frame drops here and there.
The audio thing is buggin’ me though hope they fix that.

nailed it, better explanation here

I hear you on that one lol.

is there more in depth ways to check how good the connection is before a match? or is it the same old green/yellow/orange/red bars?

i’ve been hearing the same thing on other forums about it being more like st on ggpo than it is sf4.

I don’t know really.

Wow, that sounds spetacular. I do recall Ono somewhat implying they might be using some kind of rollback netcode of their own, so maybe this is it?

Also I’m on wireless with ass internet and it’s still playable. The frame drops might be less noticeable to someone with a real setup.

Before people start saying that the netcode is amazing and/or ass (or amazingly ass) I think it’s important to lay out some rules for reporting netcode experiences.

 1. Your bandwidth doesn’t matter. Neither do your speedtest.net results. Your ISP and location does.
 2. You need to know your opponent’s location and ISP. Playing someone 1000 miles away who’s on the same ISP as you (i.e. FiOS <-> FiOS) will be a different experience than someone who is on a different ISP because of routing. Routing can greatly affect latency. If you don’t at least know your opponent’s location, you can’t really make any judgements.
 3. Indicate the time of day you were playing. 'Net traffic at 8AM will be very different from 'net traffic at 8PM, especially if you’re on an ISP that likes to over-saturate its nodes. Indicate how long you played for as well. If you played 2 matches at peak hours, that’s important information.
 4. You can’t really judge netcode by fighting a bunch of random opponents. They might have roommates torrenting, they might have crappy wireless connection to their console … there are too many variables involved.

In other words, post the following:
My location & ISP:

Opponent’s location and ISP:

Time of day:
I’m wondering this as well. I’ve yet to hear any straightforward confirmation on this.

Good to hear people are experiencing very little lag and input delay. Here’s hoping the netcode is as good or better than what SS4 had.

But how severe is this sound problem? Is it annoying to the point of affecting gameplay and making it hard to concentrate? Or does it just happen from time to time?

Is the sound problem as bad as 3rd Strike: OE? That always fucked me up

This is great to hear. Anything positive so far is great, compared to what we have seen in the past from other companies…

The answers in this thread make me horny… lol.
Glad to hear that the netcode is good, the most important answer for me at this point.

This is great to hear.

Best not to jump to conclusions until further testing or release date. You can say the same thing about sf4’s netcode if you’re fighting someone from the same area. It’s possible that’s what’s happening since the same stores are giving out the copies to people. It would be good to compare the netcode to sf3 or to play people that are laggy in sf4 but might be better here in comparison.
