actually i just realized that when its 1 on 1 the netcode holds up great for me.
but for 2 on 1 or 2 on 2 its pretty bad, so maybe the majority of complainers are playing 2 on 2.
edit not scramble, ranked.

Everyone wants an experience that is as lag less as possible. But, it’s definitely drag about the sound. This isn’t going to help Capcom sell more games in the future. The people that don’t frequent SRK are going to be very disappointed and arguments that they should appreciate this situation will be rejected. Between the second disc in UMvC3 and this problem, Capcom is burning a lot of customer equity built up by SF4 series.
I Recall when sf3 online edition came out we had similar sound problems that were later patched in.
Another thing about rollback greater stability of the connection. In simple terms the match is less likely to drop.
I played for around 3 hours tonight against someone just a few hours away the match’s were perfect throughout the only problem was some weird graphical bugs and the obvious sound problems other than that it was great with 0 rollbacks.
Compared to SF4 (for me) the net play is compleate ass. I regularly play people in NYC on SF4(ae) with zero issues. I played the same people lastnight and it was reduced to a slide show (i am in the UK btw) just to test we poped the SF4 disk back in and we were back to super silky play - but SFvT back in the tray and back to slideshow assmode
No happy as i absolutly LOVE the game and the mechanics.
Played a good amount of online matches today. Netcode was great for me. My only issue is the sound. Kind of throws me off at times.
Ok this is interesting.
So I was playing Online Co-Op with a friend,no scramble, just reg. tag mode. We played against a couple of randoms, and in the first round, from what I saw,my partner was getting his ass handed to him. It’s like he was barely even fighting back. So as he dies, I jokingly make the comment “Wow, I cant believe you let him just stomp you like that” to which he replied “WTF are you talking about. I almost got a perfect.”
The problem with this scenario is that he was DEAD serious. In this match and few others we had times where we were seeing 2 completely different fights unfold on screen. It was confirmed for me during a later match when, while I was beating the brakes off some dude,my friend was yelling at me to tag out because I was about to die. o_O
Anybody else have these issues? Granted, I was playing on a semi-shitty connection, but I have never experienced anything like that in an online game before.
Thoughts?
Opinions?
Help?
Hahahahahahahahaha
Whats with the sound bug?
Don’t play on such a shitty connection?
I mean, it wasn’t THAT bad. But it’s not amazing either. Regardless, that still doesn’t explain us seeing two different fights take place. That just…i dunno…I can’t wrap my head around it.
3SO was a lot worse online than SFxT for me. It’s no good if people teleport everywhere. SFxT netcode seems to be better. Then again maybe it’s just because the matchmaking in 3SO was terrible and I had no idea where my opponents were from.
So does anyone got news on the sound bug?
It threw be off really bad my first day, but I got used to it I guess. At least it doesn’t feel like I’m underwater anymore.
The netcode is great imo
Poor net-code in a video game that’s sold and purchased largely on its online functionality a case for refund?
Not according to MK9! So why should this game be any different?
Caveat emptor.
I don’t like the idea that anybody who hasn’t had a good experience with the netcode is just an idiot who doesn’t know that rollbacks are better than input delay. I know this, I used to play on GGPO often, and played 3SOE without issues. In this game the majority of my matches are obviously laggy. There’s major hitching, everything is slower than normal, and there’s constant minor rollbacks. There might not be input delay but the constant tiny rollbacks slowing the game down changes the timing on tight juggles, and it’s very inconsistent throughout a match.
This netcode CAN be great, but for me most of the time it isn’t. I don’t live in a very populated area, so it’s likely everybody I’m playing is on the coasts, which are both 1000+ miles from me. The thing is, I can play some of these people fine in SSF4 (obviously some input lag), in GGPO with 0-1 delay, or in 3SOE with 0-1 delay, but SFxT netplay is plagued horribly by the issues I mentioned above.
I like that Capcom is trying with rollback netcode, but it’s obviously not as good what is already available and in some cases not even as good as their previous input-delay based netcode. Everybody who doesn’t have any troubles with the netcode should find somebody cross country to play, and compare the experience to playing the same person in SSF4 or GGPO.
Netcode is sloppy, umvc3’s was vastly superior (better even than ssf4/sf4…never got a “couldn’t connect” message and only once had laggy match). Also I need dat Vita version. Not enough time at home to lab. I got way better at Tekken 6, umvc3, and sc4 simply because there was a faithful handheld version to practice on. This game isn’t as “sf4” as I feared, but the Tekken characters gameplay changes are something I need to grind on and practice to get used to. 1 1/2 hours alternating between practice mode, then testing with a shitty netcode every night isn’t enough.
People who think that SF4’s and UMVC3’s netcode is great, are online warriors who can’t recognize input delay. Saying you had no delay in those games is a blatant ignorance because there is always input delay, you’ll never be in an online match with 0 frames of delay in those games. That netcode was ass, like you’re playing underwater.
Most people aren’t saying there’s no input delay in SFIV, but in terms of how good the netcode is, it actually turned out to be one of the best, which in my book makes it ‘good’.
In regards to SFxTK, it’s obvious these games do not get tested outside of lab conditions/Japan. There is NO way this would have gotten the green light with all the sound issues if they did.
I think AE’s netcode is better than people give it credit for. Like implying they can’t react or finish combos even though I often have no trouble doing those things. I’m not saying there is never input delay because there has to be, but I think the netcode keeps up with the game pretty well.
Marvel on the other hand is just terrible and makes me want to eject the disc and throw it out of the window.
