Netcode

I think the netcode is great, Capcom finally listened to the right people.
The amount of people who think the variable input delay netcode from sf4 is actually better is shocking.

Heres hoping they fix the sound bug soon and continue refining this new netcode for future games.

it’s shocking to me too lol. ESP considering in 0 bar or 1 bar I can still do my combos in rollback. How people think ssf4 net code is better is beyond me

I orgasm over it because now i can AA and whiff punish all of you laggy McJumpAlots on reaction rather than second guess what i’m going to do.

From Sven’s own admission, it seems that Capcom USA didn’t know about this either.

That doesn’t seem likely according to his original post saying something along the lines of “that wasn’t supposed to be included in the manual”

Sounds like they knew very well 360 support with pair play was not implemented.

If you read his edit, he basically admits that he didn’t know about it. Or at least didn’t know why.

I’ll take an original response over the edit, considering the backlash he received and changed his response in order to make it seem like it was indeed an accident…but whatever, I don’t even own the game on 360.

Netcode seems solid, sound glitch is unbearable. Can I sue Capcom for the sound glitch, my equilibrium is all fucked up after playing just 6 matches and I had to stop. But yeah the netcode itself when I played had a few hiccups, but overall felt good all things considered.

Maybe. But I do tend to trust the guy more based on my own personal interactions with him.

The real question is how Capcom will respond to their players questioning the “why”. Saying “the 360 can’t do it” is a bald-faced lie, as we have evidence from other games. Saying “we didn’t do it right and now we can’t/won’t fix it” is detestable, but it might be the best we get. :frowning:

Of course, I’d love to hear them say “we didn’t do it right, but we’ll have a patch within 2 months”.

I feel stupid harping on this so much all the time, but it really makes or breaks the entire game for me. If 2 vs 2 mode is going to be the most fun way to play the game (casually or otherwise), then what’s the point if I can’t go to a friend’s house and troll/practice online? How will we get amazing KSK TV with Mago/Tokido dominating online in pair mode? At least for me, “buy a PS3, then rebuy the game and a stick too” is not a valid answer.

The first thing I thought of funny enough when I heard people complaining about the netcode was

“I know a top player like Arturo wouldn’t complain about it”

i just started playing online today and i gotta say the netcode is way better than i expected after reading some of the replies in this post.

Shit, I hope the devs don’t make the netcode worst just to fix the sound. If GGPO can do it all then they have no excuses to improve both the netcode and fix the sound bug.

lol. a true online warrior.

After playing numerous matches online I’m of the opinion that netcode is actually pretty decent and completely playable. As far as the sound drops…um…idk I don’t really care I guess.

Are you sure its irrelevant?

Seems like this guy “combo beest” has info that is a lot more accurate than most of yours. But it seems anyone who steps up and speaks against rollback is called a troll or there FG skills are called it to question. The sheer determination to sell code off as good makes me question the motives of the people involved are they sponcered by capcom is indeed this forum sponcered by capcom???

This code is obviously terrible and anyone over psn or xbl or any other fighting game website or even any general gaming review website will tell you the same. Also whats all this talk of not being able to do combos or anti-air srk’s with ssf4 online this is a blatent lie and a desperate attempt to make this games online seem better.

This is by far one of the poorest online experiences I have seen in my 5 years of reviewing games please don’t treat everyone one like idiots and sell this of as a job well done.

Simon

I like it when someone jumps in on you on your wake-up but because of the rollback, you can’t tell if it’s going to cross up or not. Lovely.

I live in Hong Kong and have lagless connections with others in Asia. It is definitely better than SFIV’s netcode - the sound thing is kind of annoying though.

Same here. I live in the Philippines and have had decent connections to folks in HK.

I’ll take some input delay over this sound dropping garbage. Sound is a big part of the game and playing on mute kills it for me
