Netcode

^ LOL probably true

Tell that to the 3D dragonball game that uses GGPO.

which dragon ball game do you speak of as i stopped buying them after raging blast 1…if you talking about some cyber connect 2 made dbz game , every online game has been poor. fun but bad online…dbz to naruto…or are you speaking of some old dbz game

No, it’s a fairly new game.

Audio dropping is not lag and if your game is lagging you should try only playing with people in your region or call your ISP.

You know what you might be right, i may have adapted more to the online flow , since i play more online then offline for the past few years

It’s actually a recently released arcade game

i just have your ordinary road runner turbo 15 down and the 1 up. i speed test it all the time. always there. they just gave the option for 50 down and 5 up and will be upgrading soon

been searchign in XBL ranked for like 3 mins

Is it possible to play 2 v 2 online? Like, have a friend next to you and you can play another 2 people online?

If you’re on PS3, yeah.

As was the case with SFIV, doing Arcade with Fight Request turned on is the fastest way to get ranked matches, I’ve found. I never have to wait more than a minute or two, and on the rare occasion that I do, I have the opportunity to practice while I wait.

so after playing about 50 matches online…the netcode is very good. definitely better than sf4, there’s not even a doubt in my mind about that. the main reason why people think its laggy is because the sound glitch is making them fuck stuff up.

if capcom manage to fix the sound glitch and retain the quality that the netcode has right now, i’d say they’ve done an extremely good job. let’s just all cross our fingers that they can actually do that though. i really don’t want to be playing this in 6 months with that problem still prevalent. if the match is slightly laggier than normal, the sound bug becomes even more of an issue.

Yup, makes me super-sad, too. One would think that Capcom has access to a development network on which they test one of the most important aspects of the game. They couldn’t have said, “hey, let’s just put it out there,” or “works fine for us, here in Japan,” could they?

When I was working in the financial software world, where thousands of users accessed information about their billions of dollars, there’s no way in hell that a project manager would have taken a gamble and put something out there that wasn’t tested a million times. True, not everything goes 100% to plan, but a good project manager would never leave one of the most important features to chance.

Is there no way to simulate network traffic and load? Certainly, there has to be, Capcom–invest in it!

Makes me wonder if Ono was being arrogant or if this was simply a rush-job.

Is 1mb upstream good enough for this? I was getting extreme rollback in several matches last night. I also play ST on GGPO and it is very smooth when playing anyone in USA, even WC with >90ms ping.

Wireless users on consoles ruin everything…

Ah, I guess it doesn’t matter if I (wired) host, then. It was happening both on games I hosted and ones hosted by others.

The sound is weird and all but I am starting not to notice it much … I really hope the fix that tho.

Hence why I got the worse version of this game on 360. Almost everyone does it on PSN.

Rollback code is pretty much guaranteed to be the best philosophical way to handle FG netcode, and I’m totally willing to deal with some frame skips or jitter in order to get instant response from my actions.

But I’m not willing to deal with no sound effects. This needs to be fixed, especially considering other games have shown us that we can have rollback code without these problems. If Capcom adjusts the netcode to eliminate (most of) the sound effect problems, I’ll be pretty happy with the implementation.

I play in tournaments too, and yes, you have to deal with basically no sound coming out of the monitor. But that doesn’t mean all my fun, casual games played on my own TV need to simulate the tournament experience. When I play at home, I want the whole experience of the game, including sound effects. I don’t see why people think this is a false sense of entitlement.

Still waiting for Capcom’s word on the pair play for 360. The lack of this bothers me more than the sound effect thing.

Someone fix my issue with mines ; every time I go into a match, the opponent always teleports for no bloody reason. I was told to port forward, but it turns out that my ports are already forwarded for the 360. I’m in disbelief here guys.

Hey combo beast how about you hire chen to do the sound effects for you.
