The game has no shittin sound how can it be better netcode than street fighter
I played 50 matches in ranked and most were pretty good, one match was laggy as shit. Audio bug in all of them, but I was not dropping combos due to lag so that is good.
The audio issues need to be fixed asap. On 360.
Lol really? come on man what does sound have anything to do with netcode? and you wonder why people don’t take you seriously…
sound bug will be patched anyways but as far as netcode performance, it’s an irrelevant topic. Let’s stay on topic.
I’ve gotta say, I absolutely love my completely invisible Fuhajin kicks. Having people run into the invisible purple mist is quite entertaining.
usually this happens with most games at launch so lets hope they fix it soon
It is a glitch. Many other games that use a rollback feature have the same audio de-syncing issues that SFxT has. Most of them were fixed. Capcom is aware of it and it will be fixed or smoothed out to where it barely happens eventually. It’s brand new netcode so hopefully not too many people are heading to pick up their pitchforks and storm the streets.
Also, the audio not working is due to the game being rolled back and the audio is tied to frames. If enough frames rollback then the audio and even animation that is tied to the game flow do not come out. The engine probably syncs all sound to the frame data and Capcom is going to have to figure out a way to remove it from the frame data and have the audio queues generate from the local client on ability execution rather than on animation sync. Of course, if this is done then you may get a whole other issue where a move is done and the audio for it is issued but then the game rolls things back due to latency and figures out the move didn’t actually come out in time so you get a character saying “shoryuken” when they actually got hit in the face with a fierce kick.
It may take a few iterations before it’s perfected but I’d wager they get it done. GGPO did it (from what I’ve seen so far it’s VERY similar) and I’d also wager that’s where they got a lot of the ideas for their “all new netcode”.
The sound has everything to do with netcode,
Thats the reason it doesn’t work because of this shitty rollback and they have already said it wont be patched for at least 3 months.
I meant it’s not important when talking about netcode performance cause the main discussion is how well it handles inputs and matches from a long distance. That’s what is really important. The sound bug will be resolved so it doesn’t matter…where did you hear 3 months? That might be a good thing, more time to improve the netcode
I’m pretty doubtful at this point. It sounds like it’s working as intended from Capcom’s point of view and Ono’s reaction to the complaints. Just like how the 360 local online play “isn’t possible” and won’t be fixed. I think what we have now is how it will be.
Capcom has still not issued an official statement regarding this. Seth even said they were going to release a blog post last night, but I don’t see it on EHubs or SRK front page, so I guess it hasn’t come out yet.
Sound glitches online and lack of online pair play has really, really killed my hype for this game. I don’t even want to learn characters right now. It’s sad.
I sent Capcom an email complaining about the audio glitch. Here is their reply. It was probably an automated email message. LOL
The audio glitch patch will cost you .99 cents to download. LOL

I’ve definitely noticed improvement, but I still can’t say its as good as the SF4 netcode.
On the one hand, Capcom seems really tonedeaf with this kind of stuff, but on the other, this isn’t some small competitive-only glitch. Casual players will not notice that one game has better netcode than another, but they will notice when their matches play 50% without sound. That’s why I think chances are good it will be addressed, because the whole experience of playing the game with sound cutting in and out feels incredibly bad and sloppy on an aesthetic level.
yea lots of drama lately with sfXtk due to dlc characters, missing features, online play, etc. We’ll see what happens.
Netcode is ass if you play anyone with less than 3 bars.
Man i really miss having a list of opponents where i can just choose to try and join the one with the best connection. I hate twiddling my thumbs, even if its the same speed overall it seems slower because you aren’t doing anything but waiting and have no idea how many people are on.
worst online experience ever, right after tekken online.
with all that dlc content on top this game is the biggest bummer of the past decade. =/
go back and enjoy the lag fest that is sf4 and mvc3 lol.
I could play decent enough with ~30ms to england with sf4. the same connection however, is unplayable in SFxT, simply due to the sound cutting.
What I am reading is that the online is better than SF4 if you are playing full bar, but if not then is worst than SF4.
The problem with this it that people like me that live is S. America rarely found full bar conexion. So this game netcode problably be worst here than SF4.
ok so sfXtk is unplayable to you just cause the sound is cutting off? wow…
