Netcode

LOL WHAT? Okay, either you’re really bad at the game (which is fine, so am I) and salty or you just have really bad Internet. Seriously. Call your ISP and make sure you’re not playing on Wi-Fi.

Region filtering should be more precise than all of the U.S. I wish it was broken down into cities like SC5.

lol @ people thinking their connection is the same as everyone else’s.
“NO THERES NO DELAY”
“OMG YOU ARE WRONG ITS LAGGY”

Come on now guys…

The average joe will always prefer minor input lag because the game “feels smooth”.

The game is randomly deciding how much input lag…

I have played 100’s of matches online (fought through the pain) and some will have virtually no input lag other will have half a second.

Once you play a few more matches you will probably realise the input is all over the place.

You can have bad games with no input lag with constant roll backs and frame drops or you can have bad games with heavy input delay and no rollbacks.

The cost of a GGPO license is less than 0.1% of the development budget for this title. It certainly cost them much much more to build the code in-house than it would have to license it.

…are you allowed to tell us why they do not want to license it?

Yeah the more I play the more I either feel my buttons aren’t working, or the frames are skipping over my button presses.

Wow, thanks for the clarification. Now I don’t know what to make of it. They didn’t even use sf2 hd remix’s netcode which was made by Capcom so I can’t think of a logical reason why they built their own netcode which isn’t even stable. Has Seth informed you why? and do you know if they plan to improve the netcode performance with a patch?

Tried the game online at a friends house and I never thought I would say this but Id rather play online in 3rd strike on my ps3 than play this.

I’m not sure what game you guys are playing, but online play is sort of unbearable and it seems like it wasn’t even tested. I sat in trainng for hours getting my simple bnbs down. Second I got online nothing was coming out.

The sound thing is really annoying as well. This was noticed by all people who got advanced copies of the game as well.

I’m on a damn good connection and played friends also on a great connection that I’ve never had issues with before. Its the game not the connection …

Until a patch is released I just won’t play online I guess.

From the sounds of the posts in this forum, it’s not imperative for me to get SFxT any time soon. i don’t understand why there is such a disconnect between capcom america and capcom japan. it makes no sense that i can count on one hand the amount of lag issues i had with hd remix but marvel 3(not ultimate) and it seems this game is riddled with them. i hope this gets resolved because otherwise there’s no way i’m going to be able to use ling xiaoyu(and eventually sakura) online.

Real disappointed with the online play right now. I expected a lot more especially after Ono saying that SSF4’s online would be the bare minimum of what they would achieve for SFxT. No custom ranked matches, it takes too long to get into a match considering how many of us are playing right now. Not to mention the most important part, the performance. I really hope this gets fixed quick.

No custom matching? Like MvC3? Wow, that’s dumb.

How about player match?

I barely had any input lag in SF4, yet this game lags terribly all around. Explain that please.

I’m seeing no lag online other then the sound glitch I like it.

100% agree to what “combo beast” is sayin… this online is garbage… horrible lagg… . imo GGPO is only gud for games like SF3 TS or SF2Turbo, which are barely 200 MB in size… these next gen games are huge… SSF4 and UMVC3 netcode was really very gud… a minor input delay is fyn but frameskips and audio lag are just stupid to be in any game…

I haven’t had any communication with Capcom regarding SFxT’s netcode. Your guess is as good as mine.

Since Backbone Entertainment was the developer of HD Remix’s netcode, I assume they maintain intellectional property rights to the algorithm. Capcom probably only has rights to ship an updated version of HD Remix, not steal the netcode out of it and ship it in an entirely new game.

As I mentioned, I haven’t spoken to anyone at Capcom regarding SFxT, so I’m not sure if they plan to patch it.

I must admit I’m not satisfy with this netcode but I think it is step in the right direction. While I do hate droping frames, smoother input has been enjoyable.

But I’m writing to see how capcom address this and also. I need to test it with some one who has optimize their internet.

100 times this, not for improved netcode but for improving the loading. If you dont install the game the loading online in endless battle is freaking endless.

Please install your disc.
