I just played a few games and it literally felt like I was playing offline except for extremely minor frameskips (like literally twice).
However, the sound glitch is persistent and annoying. I can see how people are distracted by it, but if you mute the game I consider the online gameplay itself to be nearly flawless.
Because I’m being honest? If I see something good I mention it. Cross Atlantic is of course unplayable but try playing with close opponents (and wait for everyone to get the game) and you’ll see it functions well. Maybe it’s also the game itself which gives less room to mash reversals than SF4.
If you want to hear some bad stuff, their online interfaces and match making are just awful.
The existence of lobbies make sure you’ll never find a good ole 1on1 room cuz everyone are opening big rooms (with bonus laggers from across the globe who join in and ruin it for everyone) and the ranked has gotten worse compared to SF4.
Now you are presented with just 1 opponent chosen at random and you can either accept or deny. You can’t filter by connection and you can see the opponents name. Worse of both worlds. In SF4 at least I could filter and play the best connections only.
Do you play on PS3 or 360, because supposedly you cannot on the 360…eventhough it says it in the manual(special edition, normal edition according to some it isn’t mentioned in the manual). Anyway it would be mindblowingly stupid to make something like that exclusive.
I wonder what connections people accept if 5 bar is the max. How many miles between opponents, are you or him playing wireless, wat is your or their upload speed etc.
Lol, i guess Capcom spent a little too much development time locking out content than testing to see if it’s online works or if 2 player couch coop works for xbox.
Played like 15 games with my friend who is in New Jersey(I’m on west coast) and it ran pretty well. I could see a rollback here and there but otherwise I was not dropping combos due to lag. The sound glitch is pretty bad though.
…that is the way that it should be though. It will force people to actually try to create an environment where their connection is the best that it can be.
That is the shittest thing I ever heard anyone say.
your basically saying they should make the game shit online so people get better connections.
Not sure why people are defending this game or even ggpo for that matter this shit is horrible give me street fighter 4 or marvel netcode anyday over this pile of crap.
…80% of SF4 connections are unplayable and the online community did almost nothing to try to decrease that percentage. I would be extremely happy if the netcode in SFxT forced them to actually try to create a playable environment (wired connections, isolated connections, 1v1 lobbies, etc…).
No way…most SF4 connections were very much playable. They were not perfect, but 90%+ of them were pretty close to offline. Out of about 10 SFxT games, I haven’t had one that was even close to offline.
Yeah, I don’t get all the hate with SF4 netcode either. I still compare all other fighting games to it. It was outstanding.
mm I am a bit disappointed reading of the match searching and the netcode making the game unplayble unless is full bar, and there is the sound glitch too.
Well hope it get patch
