Know what? If you make a point of playing Green connections or people you know, it’s quite good. A little delayed, but overall better than 3SOE or SF4.
For anyone saying wireless is faster than wired, I bought a cheap Belkin router, used, it’s 55 feet away, and my ping time to various websites is the EXACT same. Ping google.com gets me 24-28 ms every single time. Wireless routers should not add lag. If you can get a full 4-bar connection to your wireless router from your Xbox, it won’t even add 1 ms of ping. So no, that’s not your problem.
I wonder how the netcode will hold up for people playing all over Europe?
You must be on a different planet if you think its better than SF4. We could argue SF3, but SF4 is miles ahead in terms of netplay
sorry man that test has nothing to do with online games. Maybe my router sucks and alot of you have amazing routers… but wireless absolutely adds significant lag for me and I imagine the vast majority of people who have entry level to average wireless setups.The difference is nothing for web browsing or downloading, and does not effect ping times in games even ( I get green bars with friends in street fighter IV regardless if I am on wireless or wired, but I get inconsistent laggy performance on wireless). but maybe a few of you do indeed have amazing routers, I’m not calling anyone a liar here, just saying…most wireless setups will indeed effect performance in a online fighter.

there is no shortage of people on SRK now who considered vanilla MVC3 playable.
I haven’t come to a conclusion about kof XIII yet myself but the 2 matches I have played both sucked

Just had a 4bar go laggy on me…
thank god, I was losing hope but a friend of mine in cali (I’m in west coast canada right on the boarder) got the game and we both had our first playable game together. The netcode still isint amazing, but thankfully it’s solid enough to not change the whole game like vanilla MVC3 or 3s on xbox live or something.
matchmaking is still terrible though… looks like this is one game you really need a friends list of people you connect well to.
I’m not sure what’s the netcode’s deal is, honestly. I’m getting 2-bars that have no lag whatsoever, it seems mostly seamless for me today. Maybe the indicator is all messed up too?
my indicator is definitely messed up, the friend I just mentioned in the previous post showed as 1 bar, I was so heartbroken as I knew he was gonna be my main training buddy in this game, thankfully when the matches started it was nice and smooth.
we have had a simillar issue in other games before though so I donno if it’s KOF XIII’s fault, alot of times his connection will show up as red in 3so or SFIV too when in reality it’s a pretty solid yellow or green connection.
yeah the indicator is sometimes random, I’ve played the same person a couple of times and we went through all types of connections (1 bar to 4 bars) eventhough it was always solid. Shit’s weird.
Yes. The xbox version wasn’t arcade, tons of people still played. Re-released with good netcode would pretty much mean no more relying on capcom or snk ever again for half way decent game.
Netcode is passable, but not much more than that. Still havin’ a good time, but I hope SNK patches this quickly this time.
I think any game online should start with a giant and unskippable message stating: For optimal experience, do not play on wireless connections and make sure your connection is not being used.
Met 2-3 guys with Yellow to Green connections, unplayable lag. Met another 3 guys with connections from Yellow to Green and it was very good, very playable.
