Net Code Report for KOF 13

Wireless typically runs at 56 or so mbps max, way, way slower than Ethernet cables. Wireless is a MAJOR bottleneck, because once the packets become localized, everything slows down.

Wireless is simply unacceptable on all levels.

I thought wireless being inferior to wired was common knowledge.

Unfortunately ‘common knowledge’ isn’t always common.

Had a few people in the past come to me bragging about their 50mb Virgin Media connections and that they can’t lag. Your bandwidth means nothing for games if you have a 30+ ping and your gaming is throttled, SIT DOWN.

The netcode is terrible so far.
As a new player I suffer even more from it I feel because there is no way to get into the game.

They better fix it, because otherwise this game will die pretty quickly.

The netcode is ok. All though i experience 12s… so idk if i count XD.

This maybe a little too early but i think they just need to give a small patch to fix up the match making service.

It would probably be workable if I wasn’t finding near exclusively people the better part of 2000 miles away or more last night. Your proximity to Mexico may vary.

Get at me. Netcode testing for the next couple hours before I go to work. XBOX 360. XTG8680.

You guys post about the netcode at the ATLUS forums as well?

Got my ass whooped by XTG and LordBBH - I was playing Leona/Joe - and the games were all very very smooth on this end.

Now to actually learn to play this game…

Got the game today and Im really enjoying the online play. Its like night and day compared to KoF12. Netcode is solid very playable.

Playing in the UK here (PS3, Wired connection, Installed game), have had very few playable matches, the best match I played was a 3 bar with a fellow UK player which still had a fair bit of input lag, playable but at the same time not really acceptable.
Disappointing, but not surprising, love the game but net play is not solid for me.
Wish they invested in GGPO :frowning:

Let SNK-Playmore know. Maybe they can upgrade it via patch like NRS and Mortal Kombat 9.

I’ve had some 4 bar connections. I cannot really tell if it’s lagging or if it’s good enough. I’m still not used to the speed of some of the attacks in this game.

THAT was YOU!? Hory shit…your Leona made me a bit more careful than what I normally like to be. I think we had 2 bar connections all the way through!

Yeah, it’s playable, but it shouldn’t just be playable, it should be lag free.
We’re almost in 2012, that shouldn’t be too much to ask.

I (think) had only 3 bar matches so far, and while they were all playable, they all had lag.

Played my first match online, uhh game is unbearable…I guess ill just stick to offline gatherings…

People up in MARVEL LAND need to not pass up on this game on the real. Details us some things: connection speed up & down, location of your opponent(s)

i cant believe some of you play on wifi. thats like having sand in your gas tank. no wonder your car isnt going anywhere.

even if you have 1-2 meters to the reciever its still much worse than wired connection.

Brining up wifi is a non issue. GGPO has proven that you can play with no input delay even on wifi. The fault lies entirely on SNK. Instead of asking people what their connection speeds are, everyone should be petitioning SNK on their forums and emails to improve the netcode in their games.

Im new to KOF & i really like this game…Was very disappointed in the connection issue…Dont know where my opponent was from but it was 3 bars i believe. It really felt like i was playing underwater. The only fighters i play online is GGPO ST & XBL HDR which i consider just as good as offline…Im going to try to play some locals from the Northwest see if there is any difference.

*Just a note, I only played one person, im going to try to get some more games to day & ill report.

Do SNK even have forums? A quick google search for ‘SNK Forum’ doesn’t seem to bring up anything official unless I’m blind.
I guess the only option is to post on Rising Star Games (EU publisher) and Atlus USA (USA publisher) forums if there are no official SNK forums.
