Net Code Report for KOF 13

unfortunately it appears 3bar matches generally just don’t cut it though. the choppiness makes it more or less unplayable

Really excited for the 360 patch to come out…I’ve generally had a good experience with XIII’s online play, so if it improves that’d be pretty awesome.

No word anywhere on the 360 patch date though?

How do we enable the ability to face online challengers while playing single player offline arcade mode?
Now that the netcode has been patched, I’d like to compete against other online players without waiting around in a room or attempting to join other rooms.

Thanks!

you do it from the network screen, for ranked arcade mode there’s a prompt, for player matches you just toggle practice mode with X

im glad u guys in PS3 land are enjoying it so right now even thought both these games are vastly different, but could u say the the netcode is better then UMvC3 because I got use to playing in those condition so i wouldn’t really think the transition would be that much harder, but will i be able to react to stuff?

Played someone local and it was butter.

Played a 3 bar I’ve played pre-patch and it was definitely choppier and overall worse post patch.

Had a 3 bar match and I could feel the lag but it was quite playable. I’m just so damn bad now it’s laughable.

You mean local as in your living room or local as in the same city/town? It’s hard for me to believe anything is worse post patch because everything has been considerably better for me.

If anyone wants to play me my name is “spam849” on psn. Add me and let know you’re from SRK. I live in texas and I’m playing KOF at least 3 hours a day lately so I"m pretty much down to play whenever.

im on ps3 and you can use usb controllers(im using a saturn pad) now. the only problem is i can’t select the dlc characters because that pad doesn’t have a select button.

pop my ps3 version in tomorrow and check it out… online is usually better on xbox, So i have high expectations if it plays atleast close to ssf4ae on ps3

Got a update this morning for xbox 360…played a freaking 1 bar match and it played better then the 3s i used to get when i would play a few…now time to learn to play it

reposting this here:

Played a couple games of online KOF and there doesn’t seem to be much difference tbh. I’m getting less delay but more intermittent lag spikes/choppiness.

I think they actually didn’t change much of the netcode. Instead they changed how connections are evaluated so dudes that were showing up as “3 bars” before are now considered “4 bars” with little change. I played two guys I’ve run into randomly previously with 3 bar connections who are now considered 4 bars and there was little change to how it seemed lag-wise.

I’m a guardedly optimistic. If someone wants to add me to test it out or just get games in my gt is PaulLyOCV on xbox live. I’m from CT btw.

PS3.

Games are smoother, post-patch.

Players are still fucking horrible.

360-Post Patch…wired connection
Works much better…had a lot of 4 bar matches and they felt near perfect. Players on friends list had better, more consistent connections all around. Only played one yellow bar all night and the first round was bit choppy, and it was on that Green Temple stage which I’m starting to think is like the CVS2 Rooftop Rain Stage…it just lags. Had one game where everything froze for a second, but went right back to normal instead of dropping in a ton of input delay. A few 3 bars felt a little stiff and it was hard to hop, but overall…it feels majorly improved. Played my buddy in Texas till 3 am, 4 bar all the way after 2-3 bars most of the time before patch

Loving this new patch

yeah I actaully get matches now and they dont lag like pre patch

Is anyone else getting slowdown on the team order screen? Seems to have happened post patch.

Yeah, it even happens offline in training mode.

You and I gotta play some time. I can’t stay being horrible at this awesome game forever…

Yeah I"m getting it in arcade mode a lot.
