It hasn’t even come out yet and you’re already bitching? At least give it a fair chance.
Is there anything in my post that says that I won’t give it a fair chance?
any post-patch feedback yet??
The patch is out here in Texas! Downloading it now. I’ll report back.
Holy shit guys, it’s awesome! I just played a four bar match and it’s WAY better than before. It’s so much faster, it’s almost like playing arcade mode. Get it and try it out ASAP.
It’s only out for ps triple so far though.
Are a lot of people still playing this online? If so, and the online is truly fixed, I’ll definitely dust it off and get back in it.
I’ll put it this way: if you wait for a ranked match in arcade mode you will be challenged as you are picking your characters or in the first fight.
Are you 360 or PS3? I’m on 360 and no update so far.
I just played about a dozen matches, from 3-4 bar.
Generally, it’s much better. There’s much less delay between actions, and I’d go as far to say that one 4 bar match was nigh perfect. However there were some matches that were dragged down heavily and were overall choppy. It’s still not too easy to find good connections but overall it’s significantly better.
I managed to score a comeback with Leona footsies which was pleasantly surprising, but if there’s a bit of choppiness during a HD combo or a tight cancel it gets pretty aggravating.
Wow. I’m glad the bad first impression didn’t steer the online warriors away. Or maybe they’re coming back now that the patch is out. Either way, looks like I’m back in the game. Pre-patch was quite literally unplayable for me, so it’s practically going to be a new experience.
360 will get it later.
would you say it plays better or worse than SF4???
hard to compare, slightly worse I guess?
When “later”? because I got a hard on reading blockhead and awesomesaur’s post.
it’s hard to compare with how little I’ve played so far but it is actually playable now (coming from someone who considered it absolutely unplayable garbage before the patch) I could block, hitconfirm and do combos against a friend in LA! (I am on the canada boarder on the west coast)so at worst it is now passable. Previously we could play good games in SFIV and great games in 3s online… but terrible in KOFXIII.
I was wondering that too but all the articles I’ve read about it only said “later.” Pretty vague, I know.
Three bars is still kind of shoddy to the point where it’s hard to get BnB’s out due to input lag but 4 bars is pretty damn great. And this is on a wireless router. 4 bars was still pretty bad before.
Patch notes from http://www.risingstargames.com/blog/the-king-of-fighters-xiii-update-released-on-psn-coming-soon-to-xbox-live.html
EDIT:
I’ve played 5 Matches with 4 bars, the matches were really good, filtering is more agressive now, as awesomesaur said is slightly worse than SFIV but is definitely playable, haven’t played with anyone with 3 bars for the moment, some people says that the netcode is the same, but i can now play with some friends when we had horrible matches before the patch.
Hmm! Those patch notes make it sound like they may have just improved the matchmaking system, but anecdotal reports from players so far sound like they actually improved the netcode. No?? Yes???
Definitely yes, now i can play with more of players from my friends list.
Anyways this is my personal experience.
From my experience and what I’ve read, they’ve improved the netcode significantly. Before the patch playing a 4 bar match still had a ton of input lag but now it has close to none and it plays MUCH smoother. There is occasional lag but nothing like before the patch,
