Net code discussion. Rollback confirmed!

Yeah, I set it to 4 to 5 bars and get laggy matches with input drops and warping. Not as bad as the last beta, but still shouldn’t see this amount of warping on 4. I set it to 5 only earlier and those matches were pretty good. This is like KoF13 all over again. Great on 5 bars, but anything less is shit. We all know how well that went for KoF13. Bad netcode equals death of the game. I can’t believe you STILL can’t filter by region nor see ping numbers. Old ass games from the 90’s had pings and modern developers still can’t get this shit right. I can’t imagine 3 bars or less based on how bad 4 bars can be.

I’ve had about 50/50 good matches vs laggy matches on 4 to 5.

First unplayable match, crossplay

Naw I’m just a beta boy not a early boy @ArtVandelay

Cross play has been fine so far when matched up with opponents with good ping. I can’t tell when I’m playing people on PS4 or PC.

Yeah there are some PS4 wifi warrior with unplayable connections, but they need to do something about so many being bad. I’d say about 50-60% are reasonably playable.

There’s an indicator on they battle card before the match starts

Its not PS4 wifi warriors. The game has a bug where it disregards your preferred connection settings. You can verify this by yourself by setting the game to confirm before connecting to an opponent. Plenty of times it will offer 1 bar games when you have set 5 bar only.

Again, only people from other countries as well. Mainly USA.
Starting to be afraid the game will still be like this when it launches. I doubt they’re changing anything big 18 days away from release…

i cant say that the netcode in 5 is better then 4.
in 4 the matches with some input delay where at least playable for me.

even with the search filter on 5 i get some matches with warpings.
the majority of matches where ok or good but when i set it on 5 i expect
the game to be playable in every match.

i really hope they will implement a region filter too or the general option
to decline people like you could in 4.

(pc)

The netcode is kind of bad and it’s sad to see that it is in the same condition that it was in on the first beta, except that you actually get matches now.

When the other dude’s pc is bad both you play as if the game was input delay WTF

can you guys test something out please?

there are two search filter options. the one in ranked mode and the one you find in the trainingsstage or via pressing start in the menu.
can you put both on 5 and play ranked matches from the trainingsmode and post here if you feel any difference?

i got much better matches but i dont know if its because of these settings or because of the time i played.
first session was pretty early so people in my area tend to not play.
second much better session later during the hours where people are more then likely at home.

Hey guys, since the last beta test, this problem occurred. It seems like the same problem exists during the latest beta test.

The game seems to slow down as if online lag were to occur, but it happens throughout the game! During training, during menus, character select, etc. It would run fine sometimes, but the slow down can get really bad to a point where you can’t do anything at all for minutes at a time. I even tried lowering the graphics settings too… the result is still the same. Anyone else have this problem?

I know, what I meant was if I don’t look at that, which is most of the time, I can’t tell when I’m playing against one or the other.

@Albedo Actually, even during offline training and single player stuff, the game is still looking for a connection. If your connection to the server starts failing, the game might start messing up, and if it disconnects outright, the game kicks you. I hope the final isn’t like that as we should all be able to play offline if we want without server authentication, and I think at the moment it only does this because Beta phase.

Netcode been good to me so far.

I got a break and was able to get about 4 more games in. Connection was pretty smooth for all of them. Seems like when people don’t have shit connections it works good

Bad rollback on 70% my matches, 20% pretty good, 10% perfect. Set on 5.

Netcode has been good for most people but just downright terrible for others.
And it seems consistent with every person. If it’s good for you, you’re done. If it’s bad, you’re shit out of luck.

Okay I just had the worst match that I’ve ever had online in any game ever. I never had issues in the previous beta. But that last match…that was god fucking awful.

First match of today. Set to five only. Played against a warping Ryu. Come on, this shit should be fixed by now, we have 2 weeks left. If it launches like this, goodbye SF5.
