Need Feedback on Lagless LCD TVs!

lol i dont play on ggpo anymore. besides this is feedback for evo. not a place where you can be stupid and post asking for lag reviews. this thread was intended for people to post up tvs they believed to have no lag.

now gtfo and learn to use google.

This was posted in the proper thread related to HD lag, in the very first post.

The reason is because no one knows how much your particular model/size/release/whatever TV will lag, because there is a very high likelyhood that nobody knows. There isn’t a database of different TV lag, just what people have bought and tested themselves, and even then, results vary by different regions.

Valle - STAMP OF APPROVAL:

I highly recommend getting these monitors for the following reasons:

  1. HD Monitor that DOES NOT LAG!!
  2. Portable/Built in speakers - for those SF4 Crack Sessions!! (as the EC would say)
  3. This is what EVO is using!
  4. Good price for the size/quality and free shipping from Newegg.com

Good job EVO staff for your sexy selection!!

Here’s the Newegg.com Link:

And me and my SD TEKKEN buddies on the list. This monitor is good to go!

That’s really great but, unless you’ve mistaken the sides when you wrote this, whenever there’s a difference in your pictures the CRT is actually behind the Asus, which should be impossible according to some guys in the Tech Talk thread. Is the CRT really the one on the left?

the asus is on the right for sure(have you ever seen a crt be that bright?)

also what does the position of the monitor have to do with the difference in lag? ive never heard of this happening…

man i’m just itch’n the get an asus monitor but…
hmmm whats the difference between these two monitors

and

why does one say FULL 1080P while the other does not???

This monitor is top notch guys. Installed it this week at the YJDK Dojo and everyone there gives it the Seal of Approval. There isn’t any detectable lag whatsoever and the display is bright and beautiful. Have fun kids.

You have a broken link. If both are 1920 x 1080 they are both 1080p. Might just be marketing to try and move the one that says “full 1080p”.

Still loving this monitor. Recommended to all. Newegg has it for $189 shipped. Good price. Was $199 two weeks ago.

I ordered it and got the free shipping, but god damn if they don’t get you other ways.

$16 recycle fee
$16 tax

Yes, Killer Cali we get taxed for everything hate it or love.

I have a 22" LG for my PC, I will just hook up both of them and have two PC screens. I have my PS3 hooked up to a 42" 720p Panasonic plasma that more than likely lags from what I have been reading online. I will play and train fighting games on the Asus and do my other gaming on the plasma.

Just got the monitor and it’s reaaaaal nice.

Ink, Ponder, or Wiz (or any evo staff): Can we get the height of the tables used for evo?

It’s harder for me to adjust to looking up at the screen since I play on the floor (as opposed to on the lap) than it is for me to use a stick that’s not my own. Also it will help with me setting the viewing angle.

Thanks

Has a recording solution been found ? I’m interested in doing something similar in my country.

I just got my Monitor today! And i must say this thing is a beauty, thank you so much for the extensive research you guys have done.
Definately gets the double thumbs up from me.

I’m guessing a lot of people have been buying it. They raised the price $10 and don’t offer free shipping anymore.

edit: and now it’s free again at 9:30 am
edit: and now it’s not free anymore an hour later.

I will look into getting one to use at the LAN center near me.

**BTW **is plugging this thing up to your 360 or PS3 as easy as finding a power source and plugging in the HDMI cable like a regular TV?

Yeah, I think a lot of people bought it as well. It is not very expensive and guys here did the research and recommended it. There is not much info out there on which displays have lag/no lag. I also got an email from newegg about the monitor being selected as customer choice award.

I should have gotten it while the free shipping was still there. Can’t believe it’s gone. I need a monitor anyway.

Hey Ponder, or any other staff reading the thread.

Any ideas yet on how you guys plan to record through these things?
I’m heavily considering the vk266h, because of it’s component inputs for this purpose. Lag testing before buying it is going to be annoying.

I would also like to know about that monitor, I currently use the asus pg221 via component inputs for my consoles, and the vk266h does appeal to me, does anyone know if there is too much input lag via component input in the vk266h, thanks in advance.

FWIW, I picked up the vw266h(same monitor but has no web cam) and we used it at several of our socal HDR ranbats. We used component connections and recorded our matches with the Hauppauge HD PVR. I didn’t do any real tests for lag, but it seemed to play fine and nobody complained. Not very scientific, but there ya go :wgrin:

PS: You can check out the matches we recorded here.
