You do know that Chun is probably the single hardest character to use in Marvel, right?
Are you SERIOUSLY saying 3rd Strike, Alpha 2, Super Turbo have wonkier hitboxes than SF4???

Shiki…don’t these SF IV scrub generation dickheads make you sick. It would have been better to let street fighter die and end with 3rd strike than to deal with all this bullshit. The sad part is that they like it.
I’m not arguing that Sofa King can’t use Chun because she is hard. The people who have seen Sofa King use her in real life can attest to how he plays with her. You know jump and mash lightning legs, and hitconfirm a hyper if your opponent doesn’t block it.
And those games have just as wonky hitboxes as SF4, not wonkier. And I said SF2, not ST. In WW, characters have yellow hitboxes doing certain attacks. If you got hit in that box, you for some reason take double damage. They took this away in CE, Super, and ST because it was retarded.
In ST, Chun Li’s headstomp has no hurtbox below her knees (ala Nemesis in Marvel) and it is all red which means she can go through low tiger shots and block them. Jumping and delaying the headstomp will also beat most anti airs besides Sagat’s. There’s also O.Hawk’s and Deejay’s jumping jab.
I don’t know why I’m even talking about old games when Shiki is around because I’m never gonna win lol. How about we drop this stupid ass argument, I go back to my Magic the Gathering and SF4 and everyone goes back to talking and playing about games they like because this shit only happens when SF4 is brought up.
So after some thought about the DLC for Tekken I have come to a conclusion. I am not going to run Tekken at the next ReSe cause it’s just too hard to decide if I should allow it or not

DLC at ReSe for TTT2 will be allowed!!
The thought behind this decision is that the DLC is free to everyone and the fact that all you have to do is preorder it to get it early. Plus the fact that anyone entering the tourney will have the game and have the same opportunity everyone else has makes it an even playing field. Also you will be fighting those characters online too.

Also, I am putting a $200 pot bonus on TTT2. The only stipulation is that we hit a 40 man bracket, which I think will be an easy thing to do
I am splitting the pot bonus a little different since it’s only $200. I am splitting it separate from the regular pot. The split will be 60/40 for 1st and 2nd place only. (I may change the payout to top 5 instead but for now this is what I am going with)
Also for those of you wondering, Tekken will be first on the stream!!

You know, I don’t really care if people like SF4 anymore or not. The game had a good run, and it’s probably going to be on its last legs in about 2 years or so. The people who enjoy the game will continue playing, and those who don’t will move on.
Fine by me.
But defending SF4’s hitboxes is something I will never let slide.

Because obviously comparing Capcom’s first effort at creating the first REAL fighting game back in 1991 is an apt comparison to a fighting game made in 2008 by people who had decades of experience and dozens of other games to draw from.
Also, Chun’s stomp in ST is probably one of the worst examples you can use, since it IS the proto-typical anti-AA move.
Yes, young’un…before SF4 there was a time when air pokes in SF were SUPPOSED to be good.
Oh yeah, and if she didn’t have that move she’d basically be free to O. Sagat, since even WITH it, O. Sagat is probably her worst match-up outside of the shotos.
The thing is, you could have easily qualified your statement by mentioning Alpha 3 and SF3NG, in lieu of Alpha 2 and 3S, and even I wouldn’t have griped about it.
But that would have required knowledge that you don’t have.

I am going up to help out with the tourney and supply monitors. This will be a good tourney and a great place to get some exp against some new competition.
Let figure out who is going and get the plans worked out now. Who can drive and who needs a ride? No flaking out guys. If you say you are going then you will be counted in the master plan so don’t back out or you’ll lose mad cool points!
Those that can drive figure out what it would cost in gas and post it up here so the ones needing rides will know how much they need for gas.

I used to play Yugioh at Lucky’s. I think it was back around 2007 when Lucky’s started having biweekly fighting tourneys? I saw these old ass fighting games people were playing (MvC2, GG, 3S, Melty Blood, etc.). One time I randomly got to play someone in Tekken 5 there and got my ass whooped. Then I stopped playing anything altogether because of school until 2009 when SF4 came out. Grinded online for a year in college, went to my first tournament at Lucky’s in 2010 and went 0-2.
The only other time I went 0-2 in a fighting game tournament was when I had to play EMP Jago first round and lost, then had to play Roski first round in losers.
