If that’s the case, that’s something a player like yourself should be able to take advantage of. I want specifics; what tools are there to abuse that cover up mistakes? The fact is, I used to kinda believe this too, but I was really just making excuses for my own poor decision making and lack of knowledge of the game, which I’m willing to bet my savings that you’re doing. It’s not the best game, but it’s a good game, and people play it pretty much everywhere BUT Raleigh.
I’m not going to say too much else, except this; I like KOF13 a lot. I still think it’s a great game, that’s why I SHOWED UP TO BOTH TOURNAMENTS RUN FOR IT IN THE PAST MONTH (wierd concept, huh?). My hiatus from the game stems from my inability to play it with anyone other than James; Wednesday night class keeps me from WNB, and I’ve heard about one solitary gathering since the FNI, and that was already happening when I heard about it. My disgust for the scene stems from the good players in the state (which include you and Javier) refusing to consistently support the game at tournaments, which doesn’t seem to be changing. For all of your talk, you haven’t shown you’re willing to play the game outside of RDU, and until that happens, it seems like there’s no real point to this conversation.
The funny thing about this is that I’m the one in this “argument” that’s not mad at all. I like KOF a lot, but I’ll be fine if it dies. I have SF4, and now I’ve got GG back (Damn I love GG), so I’m happy with whatever the scene decides to gravitate towards.
We all need to get up and play/level up/talk shit/&drink, lets all quit our jobs move to one big FGTV type house…who needs jobs and responsibilities?..(I say this while on the internet at work lol)

Final Round…CEO…CivilWar…NEC…! Silence per usual! I have went to two of those and I am going to NEC! Yeah I’m sure I posted about everyone of those. This is dumb! Less play! I’m trying to get right for NEC!
I kind of have the same issue with the game. I NEVER know why I lost. And most of the time, I approach the same matchup the same way the next week and flip flop on wins with people. It honestly doesn’t seem like anyone has any gameplan in that game other than do a lot of short hops and crouching attacks into hit confirms and occassionally do a poke for no real reason. It really seems to suffer from that Marvel mentality of just do shit until something hits and then kill them / put them in a bad situation.
Not ragging on the game, just trying to express that I can’t get my head around it most of the time. Sometimes a brief moment of thought will appear while I’m playing people and I can tell they actually had a plan behind what they were doing but 9 times out of 10 I really think people are just hitting good buttons and hoping for the best.
Wow! As I have said before. I haven’t really shown up to tournaments due to being sick and hospitalized the past month and some change. Once for Acute Pancreatitis (look it up) and most recently for having my Gall bladder removed (4 holes in my stomach right now). The shit is painful. I went to WNB because it’s close and if I needed to get home it would only take 30 min of being in pain instead of 1 and a half hours of it. I have posted as such here and told people that were at these tourney’s you’ve been to. I guess it just wasn’t a topic of discussion. Another reason why I haven’t been able to travel as much is because my father is still recovering from double bypass surgery and when my mother has needed me to take care of him, I have. I am hoping I’ll be well enough to go to NEC and compete.

Dude, I know. I wish you and your father the speediest of recoveries, and somewhere this turned into a hostile-ish thing. All I’m saying regarding KOF is that I (personally) don’t feel like I’ve improved at a rate that I’m comfortable with in terms of being nationally competitive. I’ve got lofty standards in all games I play, and I feel like the environment is better for SSF4 here FOR ME.
Regarding SSF4, or any other game, really, I don’t feel like a player is able to accurately talk shit about a game unless they know the game. That’s why I talk shit about 3S…I know it, and I liked it way more before I knew what it was about. Honestly, I have SF4 players in Greenville to fight (James and Q are both very dangerous) and I can go anywhere I want and still be able to play it. That, and since I’ve really put effort into the game, I’ve learned enough about it to feel like it’s a legitimately good game competitively. I enjoy playing AE more than anything else except GG right now, honestly speaking.
Because fundamentals and muscle memory. Also a lack of C.Viper, Akuma, Seth, Cammy, and Ibuki players in NC means you don’t have to worry about knowing how to block or avoid setups come tourney time.
Remember when Demarcus lived in NC for a few months and fucked up everyone here in SF4? We need more people like him.
