I was thinking about it and I think I know what I can do to provide a good place for NC to get exp and have a reason to get out more.
- I could invite players from different states out so NC can get exp playing top level players.
- I could put pot bonuses on to entice people to get good.
- I could run 15 games so that everyone has their game to play
- I could provide a tourney environment where every monitor is an ASUS tourney monitor for consistency so you know your playing on the same quality monitor every time.
- I could have the venue at a location that is nice and open so you have room to move around

100 dollar pot bonus for KOF in fucking Fayetteville an hour and a half away from a lot of us. Where was RDU? Jon was there, Brent was there, I was there (and I entered, despite not playing the game for like 2 months prior), James was there. You don’t hear much from me on this site because this is literally ALL that takes place on here. People bitch about how people don’t go anywhere, and then do the same thing while holding illuminati KOF gatherings at their house, posting the stream link but not the invite. That, or some stupid Ed-centric argument is taking place, and I got sick of those in 2010.

Well while everyone was busy discussing this lack of people playing I started and just now finished reading “Batman: The Long Halloween.” And it was AWESOME! A must read for anyone who hasn’t!
Honestly Brian, it should be a crime to have a TO as great as you and not have a FGC stepping up their game. You definitely go above and beyond.
Problem though is until NC players decide to stop giving their money away and start traveling out and taking money, along with making a positive name for itself, it’ll still be in the same situation it is in now. Once the players make the choice to get better and start beating these players from not only inside, but outside the state, NC will be a joke to everybody else.
I also wonder how much NC people have been practicing in whichever game they play today? I’m sure a lot of the “good” out of state players haven’t been arguing amongst themselves and instead have already set up sessions for the weekend. Probably tonight already. Heck, probably playing right now while NC is arguing. 
So Frank, Ed, Daryl, Blake, Roski, Abstyles, Psoul, James, Brent, Sofa, Demo(understandable), Robo, TH, stop coming to tournaments had nothing to do with it just me? You don’t remember when I pleaded with you to come for like 2 hours on the phone? I called all of you countless times. Come on man don’t do that to me. Im hurt because all of you guys are beast and just left me with Jon and Lu and the newer players. We had like 6 people for like 2 months. I called all of you man. Personally. You all gave me reasons. Yours being I can’t compete with RDU and i stay to far away. I’m like dude your Matt Frank! Guilty Gear finest. You became the best in the same city you stay in now. I pleaded and it was a no go. Man when everyone you started playing with that you respect so much leave you it takes a toll. Then I rage and stop coming and everyone said well you don’t come and that why the game died. Really? Would it have been better to be quiet and not say anything like everyone else? If I have to be the bad guy to even get a conversation of people then so be it. I refuse to let NC is good as we all can be fall apart.
I will have to take blame for me not coming to tournaments causing KOF’s decline. People did in fact stop coming when I started up boxing again.
But what I have concluded here is that Javier is considered to be the best KOF XIII player in the state and Durham is King Kai’s planet. Instead of making the journey down snake way and learning the art of kao-ken, everyone expects their savior to spread the pixie dust, thus unleashing everyone’s true potential.
Sad part is you gotta make the trip down snake way.

EDIT: Not coming at you Javier, I’ve spoken with you a number of times and have also come out to play. I’m just starting to think people are trying to find someone to blame other than themselves. Basically its become a finger pointing contest.

October 2012, the month NC learned about productive conversations that actually slowly get somewhere.
Whoa whoa whoa! I didn’t know the Fayetteville tournament had a pot bonus! I never come on SRK. 30 people on here have my number and not a damn one even told me Fayetteville was having a tournament. Someone must have been greedy for that bonus. Not saying it’s anyone’s responsibility but mine, but goddam where’s the TO spam like there used to be? =p
Most everyone knows my situation. Work 50+ hours every week. No scheduled Saturday off ever. Not technically allowed to take any days off in Nov/Dec. Hence why I drove 2 hours to and 2 hours from to WNB when I work at 8am the next day. I think I went to 4. I know a lot of people in RDU who I didn’t see there and I sure as hell didn’t see Javier 4 times! (nudge nudge)
Moved back to the Triad now and I currently have 70 vacation hours. I can only roll over 40. I’m trying to do something with at least 4 of those days. I asked about those Greensboro tournaments and I didn’t see a reply. If you guys do something with KOF (hell maybe even bust people up with my rust attacks like usual in AE) and people have come in the past I will do my best to make it. Overall, during the week is easier for me, but I’m willing to take a day to make it to Fayetteville/Charlotte/RDU for a Saturday tournament.
Jav’s, let’s set up an exhibition match. Some epic long shit. For money. Not too much since you’ll probably get at me. 
Page 6, 7, 8 and 3 times on Page 9 (last week before the tournament) for KDP tournament spam + basically every group on NC facebook, dustloop, tekken zaibatsu, and Mayonaka arena.
We had 90 people show up so I don’t know how much more spam would have helped.

Javier, I understand your frustration. The only thing is, almost all of the people you mentioned aren’t complaining about the scene. You’re singling yourself out by complaining. I don’t come out to stuff anymore because of how busy I am and my general lack of time-management skills. I understand the reasons why I can’t really participate anymore, and so I don’t really complain. I just try to keep up with what’s going on in the games as best as I can and practice when I can. I’ve been playing Tag 2 whenever I get a chance at home, which isn’t too often. I did get some good games in with Jon last night, but that wasn’t planned at all; I was going to pick up his Qanba stick and we happened to play a whole bunch, which resulted in me missing church and getting “the look” from some of my peers. And I had more fun playing P4A with him than KOF, and I don’t even own Persona anymore.
Making WNB this semester is a trial for me, because I get out of class at 7PM on Wednesdays and have to drive at least another 30 minutes just to get there, then stay until whenever it’s done and go home, and get up to go to work the next day. In the old days this would not be a problem, but I’m getting old and I don’t deal with sleep deprivation well, plus I have limited time to dedicate to my studies, so I need all the time I can get. That being said, I want to go, and currently I’m planning to make it out there this coming Wednesday. I just can’t make it a regular thing. It is frustrating, because I feel like a lot of my motivation for it is gone, and part of that is probably because the scene died down somewhat. But such is life, you know? Things are always changing.
I’ve come to every tournament I could in the past 6 months. WNB is a no go this semester because I have a night class Wednesdays, but really, nobody had any excuse to not show up to the KDP tournament. It was hella local, and there was money in the pot before anybody even entered.
There’s another one in a couple of weeks; show up or shut up.
Just by me raging we now have Roski, Blake, Frank POSTING saying there going to tournaments?! Smh! But this wise a bad idea? You have to be kidding me? You guys are unreal!
So, I’m under the impression people still want to play. I got up with Blake for a bit last night and played KoF is well, he’s still got some fight in him.
But hey, if we all want to play, lets just make it happen! Gathering at Tal’s tonight with KoF focus. If you need info PM me or him.
We got busy for a little while and people stopped communicating. Some of us got broke. Let’s just let it slide off our backs and get back into the groove. I got a new job with pretty flexible hours that I’m starting next week (every other wednesday off, every other weekend off, swappable hours with other people) so I should have MONEY to travel and unlike when I was at epic, TIME!
