Why do almost all the people who don’t show up to local KOF tournaments are complaining about KOF more then the people that DO show up, I would guess it would be the other way around but whatever. I’m sure you guys have your reasons for not coming out and all but come on this makes no sense.I know I’m not the only one who notices this.
That’s an easy one to answer… competition sucks… that’s why ppl talking about going to majors instread…think about that for a while!

Good to see people discussing the issues of today’s NC scene in here. Let me throw in my 2 cents:
First off, stop the KoF pity party. “No one shows up for blah blah, there’s no competition, blah blah, no one plays KoF, why should I bother, blah blah”. I’m one of the few, if not only NC players that shows up consistent for KoF tournaments and as disheartening as it is to see none of our GOOD PLAYERS showing up to support the game they complain about no one showing up for, I continue to try and put some effort in and show the game isn’t totally dead.
As the saying goes:
“You must be the change you wish to see”
All the discussion in the world isn’t going to change that. Come out, make an effort to play, and communicate when you’re doing so so that other people can see that there’s going to be a turn out and they can come out from under their rock too.
MAKE GATHERINGS PUBLIC. I was out of commission for a bit but I can get around again now, and I haven’t heard ANYTHING about people playing KoF. Post up on SRK, join facebook and update the gatherings everytime you have one in the TH group, the RDU group, and even the Charlotte and Greensboro threads. People can’t come out and play if they don’t know whats going on, and you can’t complain about no one to play when you’re going illuminati.
I stopped hosting gatherings for a bit because no one ever showed up except for new people and scrubs. I don’t mind new people and scrubs as long as SOMEONE good is there to play but NO ONE showed up. Why should I waste my time when no one else is putting in the effort?** I’m willing to host again but I want people to let me know their interested.**
Also, I’m willing to promise that if people come out to WNB just to get some casuals in KoF, we could get a make shift tournament going. There’s a decent group of players still messing with it, and while the skill pool has dropped off significantly, there is 4-5 new blood players getting into it.

There’s a lot of talk going on from people that can’t be bothered to show up to a tournament with a pot bonus.
I’ll assume that was about someone other than the people who were in Richmond last weekend.
The Tekken guys are pretty much on TZ (Tekken Zaibatsu). That and they’re usually playing instead of posting. 
That was on a different weekend than KDP.
Also RyRy came down here, argued to be the best east coast KoF13 player, and no one came out. I didn’t make it to that one either (broke) but where was everyone else? They had to cancel KoF due to lack of interest.
@Jon: Ah, KDP. KDP didn’t run my game or I’d have been there. However, I am picking up another game to diversify my bonds.
What do you play? They had literally everything I can think of minus maybe MK.
We advertised for BB but only got 2 entrants, so that wasn’t run. Other than that… MK, SFXT, SC5 or VF5 are all I can think of.
Faye has a decent VF5 scene though if people wanna get side tourneys going it’s not an issue. It could have been run easily although I don’t even see it getting more than like 5 entrants (which is about what i’d see it getting as a side as well).
It’s so funny reading these posts on here about how everyone wants to get better and NC is so Blah Blah Blah. I don’t get it at all really. NC doesn’t do anything other than talk about how NC doesn’t do anything.
I have been trying so hard to get everyone the exp needed to level up their game and it seems like no one cares. I host monthly regional tournaments where 7 different states come out including some of the nations best. I put up pot bonuses and run 15 different games (in a timely and professional manner might I add) for fan service so people can have choices. All of that and NC still doesn’t travel to their own events. I know it works and I know the formula for it and I have seen so many people go from alright to good since I have started these tourneys bringing in the competition for NC to play at “home” against.
Last months ReSe had Dj Huoshen and RyRy there as well as Dieminion and Noel Brown not to mention Anikin for Tekken, as well as a shit load of GA players and a couple TN players. Also had a $500 pot bonus up for Marvel and AE and a $200 bonus on Tekken Tag. You would figure that was a good mix for a great tournament but you know who showed up? Not NC and still had an 80 man tourney!! There were only 4 entrants for KOF and only one of them was from NC (thanks Brent). Huoshen and RyRy came down to play you guys in KOF and laughed at you guys cause you didn’t show. Especially embarrassing after all that shit talking you guys did on Facebook with VA
Then there was a tourney in VA, RCR, that was only 4 hours from a lot of you and no one even showed up to that. It put me in a real bad spot when I was talking with Robin cause he came down to KDP and was lied to his face that NC would be there. He had confirmation from a lot of you guys that you would be there and nobody showed except the people that are actually serious about fighting games. He was asking me where everyone was. All I could say to him is “you know how NC is man. They talk a big game and will tell you they are going but come Friday no one is found or something has come up”. I hated saying that but I didn’t know what else to say. I mean I am not going to lie to him too
Anyways I just wanted to put that out there for you guys, coming from someone who is ACTIVE in the scene and trying to do something. I don’t post in here much cause it’s always the same thing over and over. However I am not giving up. I will keep doing what I am doing and hope that one day NC will be serious about it. For now though I guess I will just keep hosting a monthly regional for other states to meet and play at.
If you think about it it’s kinda like me and my friends coming over to your house to play games and your not home.
This of course is not meant for the people who do things, just the majority.
So on to other topics now…
I have been super busy getting things done so I haven’t been around updating things so I wanted to give you guys an update to ReSe.
I am not having a tourney for ReSe in Oct. The next ReSe will be in Nov. Working on a date with the hotel now but it’s tough getting dates during the holidays. It looks like it might be Nov 17th but I don’t want to do it the same day as Battle at the Beach cause I don’t want to take people away from them so I am working on it still. I will let everyone know when I get it worked out.
I have a bunch of other things that will be announced this month as well so stay tuned for that info.

Who the hell says there going to anything on here? Since fucking Final Round I been yelling about every major event! Then this real life bull shit popped up. And 1 by 1 everyone dropped off. Lets get that part straight. When I here 14 popped up a tournament im like oh shit. But just before that it was freaking 3 people in Charlotte. I just seen 3 people that posted that aint posted shit in freaking months! But on some coincidence pop up now? Fuck out here!

But yeah I don’t come on SRK because no one’s talking usually. Alice-Chan told me there was a big discussion going on in here so I came back to see what it was about. I’d be coming a lot more if we had more productive discussions like this!
Its simply like this. The Final Round crew has not went to anything since. That kind of hurts. Its upsetting because I looked up to these people. This is who im talking to. I want to clarify that. Shoutouts to everyone grinding away and still competing. I just wish we were all on the same page.
Since we’re all having an actual productive conversation here I think we should critically analyze what we need to do as a community to make this shit “work”. Not the usual blah blah play games, play what you like, make it out to stuff. No, this is some critical thinking shit that we need to all debate/discuss/talk about what each one of us can do (as players and TO’s) to fix these problems within NC.
Are we having issues with carpooling? Not communicating properly when events are going on?
I want to discuss the issues that purely involve what’s happening to the NC scene as whole and instead of everyone making smart ass answers or stupid shit like seriously guys let’s figure out what we can do, or if we all come to the absolute conclusion that no, NC is fucked, the new scene is fucked, there’s nothing anyone can do and NC is going to continue to be mediocre then atleast we’ve figured it out and aren’t left wondering what the hell is going on anymore.
Technically right now you’ve got groups of people of different locations (TOs basically) and then there are the players. Is there anything we can do to help bring people together/fix these problems as TO’s in our respective locations?
