NC Thread LXVIII

Someone who can hook this man up that would be great, plus it will reduce your costs to drive there.

Also I would recommend asking here https://www.facebook.com/events/510203738993553/?ref=ts (if you have a FB) someone might be able to hook you up. There are some FB only players that are going/checking the event page there.

I did really bad at ReSe but I hope to do much better at KDP this weekend. I’ve been training a lot and studying some match-ups pretty hard

Currently I have 2 maybes (brent and a freind of mine). My car isn’t 100% just yet. I will let you all know tomorrow afternoon if its a go.

dwmiller, would you be willing to add me in for a seat? Are you guys going down Saturday morning and coming back Saturday night?

Having a session at my place tonight in Greensboro for people who want to practice up before the KDP tournament. Main games will be Marvel, AE, Persona and probably KOF. The address is 4240 United Street Apt. G Greensboro, NC 27407. PM me if you need my phone number. Try and come out, we need to defend the house tomorrow.

sigh and people REALLY want THIS BITCH to be tournament legal? i miss the days where you got a game with the characters that were in the arcade version and THATS what you played OR if there were bonus characters, tournament organizers put the hammer down without question.

pay attention to :49 and 1:39, thats pretty damn ridiculous. so shes netting OVER 100 alone without a CH? granted the starter is unsafe on block, but seriously. and then in the other combo she’s getting 128 with a FREE forced tag? thats stupid.

cape PM sent

Very important info (last 2 posts) in the thread. Prob best not to ignore it. We got a number to call if you are going to be late. Registration is SERIOUSLY CLOSING at 2 pm this is why if your sure your gonna be late cause of something going on call the number, we can get you hooked up and ready to go when you get there.

At next Wednesday’s WNB (Oct. 3rd), I will be providing a free mod for Sanwa JLF joysticks to anyone interested: custom springs. These are a new item custom-made by Paradise Arcade Shop to fit in the JLF while retaining its standard properties. I will have two different springs to choose from; 2lbf and 3lbf. The 2lbf has tension similar to the Seimitsu LS-32 (double a stock JLF) while the 3lbf can be compared to the Sanwa JLW or Seimitsu LS-56 (triple a stock JLF.) Why mod your spring? Faster centering with reduced deflection.

I recommend the 2lbf spring for most 2D players, especially those who play charge or grappler characters. The 3lbf spring (my personal choice) is excellent for shmups, repeated dashing a la 3D movement, and is very nice for anyone who holds their balltop loosely (think Eagle Claw.)

Again, this is a FREE mod. I will have 10 of each spring and will give them out first come, first serve. The mod is extremely easy, quick, and completely reversible with no damage to your joystick. If you do not like the increased tension, I will happily replace the original spring.

Small disclaimer: This offer is contingent upon receipt of my shipment by Wednesday. However, Paradise Arcade Shop is awesome so this should not be a problem.

If someone would be kind enough to post/link this on the TH facebook page, I would appreciate it.

Very good tournament guys. Keep up the good work.

Wish I could have watched you guys play on stream… I guess the stream setup didn’t work out?

How many were there for Melty / P4U?

Melty had 8. GG had 8. The impromptu $1 Aquapazza tournament had 12 (!) iirc. Don’t know about P4U’s numbers. Totally worth the four hour drive from Boone.

12 for Aquapazza? Wow. Even as a $1 tournament, I’m glad to see there’s a good amount of interest in the game.

Good tourney guys. I got a goal this time around for next one. I might make WNB next week but not sure yet. Anyway I’ll catch you guys later goin to the lab now.

Would have been 13 if they had told me about it. “Oh, Brent’s busy…maybe I can make some extra money?” - Aaron Nagy

lol I saw the setups for the game but honestly yeah I was too busy for most of the day to play it. Still, that’s my $12. Forgivable though since even Guilty and Melty got the pot bonuses.

Brent. Why not just money match the winner for half the value of the pot?

Wanted to, didn’t have time, can’t imagine he would anyways. He was trying to get enough money to buy Tekken.

Thanks for everyone that came out to play. We’re receiving a lot of feedback, and will be doing our best to iron out the bugs in our process. Though people were very forgiving for it being our first event, there’s no reason to sit on what we did both right and wrong. If you have any feedback or constructive criticism, feel free to address it both here in the thread, on Facebook, or in a PM to myself / Alice-chan / Smokin’ Jo.

Gonna make my best attempt to make it out to WNB this week for TTT2 and Marvel. My stick is back from the shop and RL family stress has calmed down a bit. Hopefully stays that way.

Some announcements.

In case you didn’t get the memo, since The PourHouse is now doing events on Tuesdays, they asked us to move to Mondays so we are embracing the new timeslot. We hope you do as well.

Also, in an effort to reach out to more players and to test the waters for future events, we are planning to host a special off-week event.
Check it out below!

For this event to work, we will need at least 1 full KOF 360 setup and 2 PS3 copies of TTT2 (just game). We as a group have a copy of each game. And have the PS3s covered.

Just trying to give the KOF-heads and Tekken folks in Greensboro and surrounding areas a place to learn and level up.

If successful, we may be able to go weekly with rotating games. AE/P4A/UMVC3 one week. KOF/TTT2 another week. We are also opening it up to game suggestions. DOA? etc. We just want everyone to have an opportunity to promote and play their favorite fighter.

Please come out and support. With your support, we are going to keep working for the community at large.
