You played Fei before he was considered to be derp good too but most people wouldn’t know that.

Yeah people tend to forget things. Same thing with Zero, Kung Lao, Metaknight, etc. I played all of them long before anyone even had an idea they were good.

I have really good taste in characters, what can I say.

I am with you. If we all push together, we can all level up the state in all the games we enjoy. I’ma planner so the thought that popped into my head was to have a list or sheet of all sessions, tourneys, etc. in-state and out that people need to be aware of and just blast it everywhere so we can move in-force and with purpose.

Just recently made a team change. At the beginning of ULTIMATE, I had no idea about how to be a competitive player so I just picked three chars I liked and ran with it and since just made slight alterations to that. Now, I am more focused on find what my style of play is and have build a team from ground up (learning two new characters) to emphasize that.

I want to be a better and smarter player.

Yeah I think a lot of it is just awareness of when things are going on and lack of planning. I’ll admit I barely even follow the tournament scene’s schedule and by the time I realize I should be making plans, it’s usually too late. Doing something like keeping a list of neighboring states tournaments as well as a list of majors and seeing who’s interested would go a long way.

Because you can win in a competitive environment without putting in work, right? I didn’t pick Fei because I thought he was easy, that character is hard as fuck matchup wise, atleast to me. I’d rather play Akuma and have a toolset for everything then having to play the aggressor all the time even when the match doesn’t favor it.

I play a lot of characters and learning Fei was very easy compared to Akuma (All you had to do was downback and the opponent just walks himself to the corner). A lot of character specific combos and setups you have to memorize, frames you have to whiff after a hard knockdown, option selects off of demon flips, etc. He is a great character when you put in the effort which would be probably around 1-2 years.

There is a reason why Mikaul and I dropped Akuma for other characters. Derpiness of SF4 made me switch to a more safe character in Rose and I Mikaul just switched to Yang.

But this isn’t to intimidate you away from learning Akuma though I can’t imagine you playing him on pad.

say its totally different from online, mostly got bodied scrubbed out a couple sloppy wins because they didn’t know the haggar matchup. lulz. Yes I know I’ll never be (insert sponsored pros name) but I’m very interested in becoming a strong player.

No 1f links in his BnBs just make sure you have tatsu sweep timing down for different characters.

Also remember who was gdlk with Akuma? West, he went from Akuma to Oni to Gen lol.

Matt Frank also played Akuma in Vanilla along with Rufus. I remember Azn_Boy playing Akuma in Vanilla as well. Jon you played Akuma before Fei too if I remember correctly? That may not have lasted long but I vaguely remember it.

I was actually in Raleigh so it kinda sucked that I couldn’t make it out. Next week I’ll be there.

Yeah sucked the one week I decide to play no one showed up. Got alot of good games in with Eric, Aaron, and another guy (forgot to ask his name). Twas fun indeed. Hate I haven’t been playing all this time, but duty calls first.

The core group of NC (i.e. the SRK crowd that’s been around for a while) are playing KOF and not much else, occasionally SF4 and Marvel if you’re Jon. Our best players from 2+ years ago just aren’t into the new games. The new fragmented scenes, I agree, are just kind of coasting while the older scene guys mostly stay completely separate from them. That seems to be how it is.

It seems odd for me to just be playing one game locally though, so I guess back to some SF4? Unless VF takes off somehow.

What’s wrong with KOF? You don’t really want to go back to SF4 do you? And VF has a good amount of people playing. There’s suppose to be an exhibition tournament at MLG Raleigh I heard, so hopefully it does well.

Hey guys James here with the results from last WNB Episode 26…I was a little busy with work but here they are.
