NC Thread LXVII (67) - RIP MaximumBurst

Looks like Game wizard made it out of his pools in AE. I wish evo would update the KOF brackets.

Thanks. Would you say that Terry is better played offensively than defensively? Constant pressure on your opponent and force them to have to guess whether low attack or short hop into cross up?

I only can think of standing B for poking and crack shoot for if they jump. Other than that not much to apply pressure with. Does Terry just have a harder time opening opponents up for attacks?

Alrighty. Just keep in mind it’s Marvel and KoF, not sure if you play either of those.

I think Terry does both. He’s got a good cross up and his pokes have good hitboxes for defensive play. You really have to work the cross up / throw game with him because he has no other mixups, but his j.D is godlike so it’s not hard for him to do. I think Terry is underrated personally.

Crack shoot is ok to get closer and to anti air hops and jumps. It’s advantage if they crouch block it and negative if they stand block it so pay attention to how they block it and plan accordingly.

Half of the cast can crouch clean under Crack Shoot.

Are you sure? Both versions?

I don’t remember seeing that. Maybe it’s a spacing thing?

P4A primer, game has a lot of interesting mechanics.

It almost seems like KoF meets BB / GG.

Blehh I’ve heard some of that too, figured they’d have a lagless adapter by now. But oh well buying a new stick wouldn’t hurt considering I’ve been thinking bout upgrading my own. I just bought a brawlstick to learn on last year and within a few months it felt less responsive not sure if it was my scrubbiness or the crappy stock parts going out. Any reccomendations? I hear quanba(sp? lol) are pretty dope

real life is a motherfucker…this is no doubt.

as far as the scene goes, i have noticed that things are slowing down a bit but isnt KoF still being grinded hard? plus the way i see it is that each individual scene has really just established itself and after an initial strong push, things are just leveling out. the TH/WNB guys are doing an amazing job. the BFP guys and the whole TG scene are also starting to stand out. i just think with the push to EVO more people were playing instead of just talking.

on another note. TTT2 WILL BE PLAYED. dont believe the bullshit naysayers, trolls, and haters that post HERE. there is a strong Tekken scene in the Raleigh area. a scene spearheaded by the player formerly known as LingMassacre (just call him Dr. now lol), i havent been around as much as of late with the new baby but our already strong players have been made much better with his tutelage. dont read the bullshit “scene is dead” stuff posted here, most of the people who post that bullshit are just afraid of the game and dont have the patience to take a few L’s to get past entry level. so if you are interested, just ask about a session, come out and play.

Where are the tekken players playing at in Raleigh dude?

Does it matter if nobody actually travels anywhere and shows up for tournaments, in-state or out?

TOMORROW…ANOTHER EPISODE

MINDGAMES FIGHT CLUB’S TNT (TUESDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN) @ THE POURHOUSE

THE ROAD TO EVO 2013 BEGINS HERE! lol

July dates: 10th, 24th

I am disappointed in that myself. But I have no room to speak right now while im unable to travel.

ShinGodfist: the best place to look is in the NC thread over at tekkenzaibatsu, the gatherings are posted there. they rotate between homes but they happen.

My eyes are like shadow…and my shadow sees all. Warning.

Most of the good players are still playing anyway. Who cares if some random phantom scrub drops off from the forums. If people are interested in playing and really getting better, they’ll find us and play.

NC kinda sucks for traveling just geographically, but I think we have it in us to be a dominant force with some refocus. The KoF push has slowed down as far as I know, unless Durham is playing in secret (which is likely) but other than that I know I haven’t really been on it much lately. I plan on getting back into gear though asap.

I’m really itching for some games for some reason. Gonna try to make it out to this.

Sunday Evo stream was pretty cool. I enjoyed watching.

Marvel was hype. Never saw a good M.O.D.O.K. or Nova until then.

KOF was pretty hype too.

Just got done watching KOF finals, absurd Duo Lon. Seriously a whole other level of control.

Yeah Mad Kof’s Duo Lon wasn’t human at all.

I ask my japanese teacher about Ainu(The people that nakoruru is based off of) back when i was in school and she said “they north people, special kind”. I did not know what she meant until today…" they are the native people of japan" they are the navtive americans of japan. There land was taken from them by the korean-chinese invaders long ago.

The only way to pervent your culture and people from being wiped out is to kill the ones who threaten your way of life and win. Period.

Sorry I just kind of bailed out of NC without saying goodbyes and stuff but the last couple weeks were pretty crazy for me with finishing school, getting my shit ready to go home, and preparing for Evo. It definitely sucks that I had to leave.

BTW played a shitload of P4A at Evo and I have to say that game is a fucking blast. So much fun and its sooooo pretty. Especially sad I am missing out on the NC P4 hype bc I am pretty sure wherever I end up the scene for that game will be smaller than NCs :frowning:

Glad I could be a part of the NC scene even if it was only for a couple months and I hope to see you guys at some of the nearby majors and stuff.

Even though it was short lived. I had fun chillin and playing games with ya arm. Good luck with whatever you decided to do. Oh yeah what the fuck happed at evo with B.A.L.A. Duo Lon… How was the gatherings? I had to disappear for a while. Went to NY and PA and had a blast. I plan on going back soon. Way too many grls and just good people. I’m looking forward to seeing ppl at WNB tomorrow if it’s still happening.
