Interesting, I wasn’t sure but I thought it didn’t look as good as it should. Maybe a tradeoff for it being a download? Though that doesn’t necessarily make sense, there are plenty of graphically intensive PS3 games you can buy online and download.

Apparently the PSN moneyhatting is also working- a lot of the old VFDC vets are complaining about nobody playing, but they’re mostly on Live- I see at least ranked being active on PSN. I wish player matches were more visible/active on PSN- that’s more fun than ranked matches which usually involve running gimmicks. I think this is one reason VF has had trouble with tourney participation- folks prefer sets because more of the depth comes out when you see things and have time to adjust over a series of matches.
That said, I hope the VF fans show up next weekend at ReSe. One problem with the VF comm is that it gets too illuminati, need to get things out in the open.
I liked GG, but i sucked so bad with Dizzy back when i was trying to learn. Blake/White answered a lot of my tedious questions back then too. My only gripe with the basic engine lay out was the guard system. I did not like the fact that you got penalize for guarding correctly and that you were at the mercy of a plus frame gaurd trap
once you ran out of tension. Fuzzy gaurd was another thing that i did not like. It was a consequence of the chain attack system which resulted in the defending player having to choose to gaurd during the attack string mix-up overhead vs low before they could visually confirm the animation that was coming out. Most players justify this by saying that your guard frame standing is active faster than most of the standard overheads (ie:dust) in the game and just to gaurd everything low. This exists in Tekken as well and i do not like it there either. Other than that GG is the most option balanced game next to 3rd Strike and Virtual Fighter in the history of fighting games.
Accent core is anyway, stuff like midnight carnival/X/original were considered kusoge’s in Japan for it’s time. XX not as much as X though.
