Nothing, it’s just syndicated programming by its affiliates.
Unlike NBC though who have to answer to its affiliates, Fox owns most of its affiliates or can contractually force them to air whatever programming Fox wants.

i dunno bout the whole nbc answers to their affliates because my affiliate originally wanted to show the news at 10 instead of showing jay’s new show. but they forced boston to show the news at 11. it made nation wide news about it…lol.
also…is pee wee herman a highlander? he doesnt look like he’s aged one fuckin bit. damn…makeup is powerful.
What’s even more amazing is that Fox has an hour less of prime time to work with since the local news is on at 10pm making Fox broadcasts from 8-10 as opposed to 8-11 from the other networks and they still compete strongly. I guess if they do get Conan for something at 11, it’ll be the first time in a long time that weekdays at 11 showed a Fox broadcast… I forgot the last time they did it. The Chevy Chase Show maybe?

Considering Leno was crushing Letterman before he got kicked off the Tonight Show, alot of people watch.
I honestly don’t think the recent shows have been that good compared with Conan’s regular/old shows. I hope tonight’s is insane, though.

yeah i dont think jay leno will get very good ratings for a while. he’s lost a lot of momentum being shuffled back and forth.
i doubt the negative publicity will be a factor tho, after all he stole the show from david letterman and he did fine.
I dunno, that one wasn’t made to be the spectacle this incident was. Yeah, they made a movie about it, but that was many years later. I kin it to the whole Gates/Jobs fiasco in the same vein. Well known now, but at the time, not all that talked about. This, on the other hand, was in our face 24/7 since it all started.
those were the days before internet, mass media, and easy access to news. Honestly, I didnt know the whole thing about Leno and Lettermen until this happened. I say he will be effected by all of this.
Let assume die hard conan fans use to watch jay also (whether because it led up to Conan or they didnt mind Jays comedy). Now hes guaranted the lose of those viewers. Plus with the negative publicity, hes gonna loose some more if people sympathise with Conan. I dont see Leno gaining more views from this, just losing.
Then comes Sept 1 when Conan might get a new gig and that takes a piece of the 11:35pm pie for sure.
Nothing’s going to happen. The Internet communities always posture and make empty gestures, but they never follow up.
