So I tried to watch Leno’s new show even though I swore never to watch his lame ass again…and yeah, he’s still lame as ever. The only good thing Leno has ever done is his garage.
Love how Letterman lit his ass up and called the BS out…brutal.
Conan is absolutely on fire, at least he’s going out with a bang.
I think something like 60-70 came with him from new york, and of the hundred something californians 40-50 are getting other jobs in NBC, so it’s still somewhat reasonable.
The thing is, NBC would have had to approve that purchase either way (since they still own the show), and you can’t even just up and buy a Veyron, as there’s a huge waiting list for that car (although I’m almost sure Jay Leno could, given his clout in the automotive world :bluu:).
Yah, but like how much of conans stuff that is airing now are approved by NBC?
Even if Conan gets a new gig today, it still take some time for his new boss to build him his new stage. Then theres possibility of relocating, hiring of his staff, paper work etc… so he have to wait either way.
If that was 100% true, then why was the Bugatti skit pulled from all internet broadcasts? I know it’s for money reasons, but NBC would have approved it knowing it was going to air online, and it didn’t.
His show finishes filming at 6ish, which gives them 2 1/2 hours to get it edited and up on the air before it airs on the east coast. He could have easily played the song without prior permission, knowing that the royalty checks would have to be paid, with the only other option that NBC pulled his show for the night and threw on a rerun. So in that sense, I think the Rolling Stones bit really did screw NBC out of a chunk of change.
Now, as for the Car, that was most likely just a good promotion bit for them, I don’t think for a second he could really charge that to NBC
yea, NBC isnt being completely screwed, theyre gonna capitalize on his recent rating spike. his suspension from television isnt that big of a deal anyway. like someone said before me, if he does have something lined up already, theyre still going to have to develop the new show and build sets and pitch their ideas and schedule guests etc. etc. theres a lot of preparation before a show can start airing. so either way, the whole situation is working out pretty smoothly i think.
certain things are allowed to air on tv, but they dont have the rights for rebroadcast on online. thats why certain musical performances on snl dont get on hulu due to restrictions.
Yeah, I mean, I’ve been to the show, too, remember? Granted my seat wasn’t as good as yours, I still know the times.
But think about this. How much time does it take to mute the audio or even to just put a graphic over what they don’t want you to hear or see? Not long at all. ABC did that shit during the live Drew Carey (and if you think Leno is unfunny, you haven’t seen that motherfucker. He’s like the father of Jimmy Fallon style “comedy”) show in, like, half a second to cover someone’s ass.
Aw man, why did got to bait conan out like that. Good find tho Sep, you know ur stuff. So does NBC have to pay royality fee for the rolling stone song that conan aired along with the “rented” car.
