Stern said he was invited to be on conan . If stern does go on he’ll talk shit on leno Carson NBC in general. Stern has a long running fued with leno.
I think Jay Leno is funnier than Conan, but I can tell Jay is a sneaky bastard and sabotage Conan chances to be successful. Fuck it, bring back Arsenio!

In 2004, you guys have to realize that Conan’s contract was up. He told NBC basically, “Look, I have been here for 15+ years, will I be getting the Tonight show? I need to know because Fox and ABC are offering me more money than you”. NBC said, ok, in 2009 you will get it. Now NBC was afraid of letting Leno go because he is loved and has good rating and they don’t want to create competition for Conan so they need to keep him. So NBC told Leno that they will give him another talk show if he stays and all agreed.
You guys have to understand that Leno and Conan are the puppets controlled by NBC executives. They are just lookin out for themselves and their ratings. Even when news hit about Leno back in 2004, his ratings remained consistent if not improved on an average of 6-6.5 million viewers where Conan was in the 3 millions.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Conan and Leno is whatever, but numbers are numbers. Also, Conan has a lot more restrictions on the new time slot. He has to tone it down compared to what he was able to do back in 12:30. Look at triumph or the master-baiting bear. The bear is gone and Triumph sucks

Jay throws out rumors 2 days ago that hes thinking of leaving NBC because they are making him look like the bad guy, and then immediately stabs Conan in the back, signs a new contract taking back his 11:35pm for 1hour when it was suppose to 30 mins before.
Jay fought hard for 10pm because he want to screw Conan up with shitty lead-ins. That would gurantee Conans failure and his show back. The guy is as dirty as they get. Everyone can see it expect Leno supporters.
The Leno show was cheaper to produce during primetime then a drama. Aside from all the BS contract talks. Leno was either asked to back up the Tonight show if it bombed, or produce the same show to save money for the network. Either way, it makes Leno look like a weasel since he took the money.
If someone asked you to come back to TV, to basically do the same show, same money,and in the same location. That equals $$$$$. If anyone says they would not do that is fooling themselves.
i don’t understand the whole lead in argument. law and order was so good that it made people watch the local news and then stick around for leno? that doesn’t make sense to me because local news stations have been hurting in rating while jays i believed stayed good. I love Conan and hate jay’s act but c’mon, nothing disperses a crowd better than a local news broadcast.
so, I read that before looking at the date and was going “WTF? Now Letterman’s jumping into the ring again over the show?”
Then it all sounded more familiar, and the lack of Conan being mentioned… that was when I went back and noticed it was 1992. 
The thing I miss the most is the “moving lips” skit, where it was Robert Smigel, the guy that does Triumph, do the impersonations behind the picture of Arnold, Donald Trump, Bush, etc. That was by far the funniest skit on the 12:30 show to me, and that one was gone too.
That’s a lie, because of cohones and integrity meaning more and all that jazz.

When Leno took over for Johnny Carson, he had bad ratings, and was consistently behind Letterman after that whole shitstorm. It took Leno 3 years to pass Letterman in the ratings, and that was after he scored the Hugh Grant interview.
Fact is, NBC never let Conan settle into the new timeslot, not to mention letting his staff settle into an entirely new city, a luxury they afforded Leno when he started hosting.
maybe its all one big elaborate scheme by Leno to sabotage the tonight show reputation and going out as “the greatest tonight show host of all” (arguable). kinda like hes making it hard for Conan, or anyone else, to follow up. maybe he has a fear that Conan will be even more successful than he was as host of the tonight show.
some people are saying that jay should let go of it all and just retire. i sort of doubt hes thinking that yet. Leno about 60 years old at the moment and his predecessor, Johnny Carson, was 67 when he retired back in '92. im sure in the back of Lenos head, hes thinking that he can probably pull another decade out of his career before he throws in the towel.
but in the end, i dont think he should try to take back the spot or meddle with the time slots and all that. hes already agreed to do his own thing and let Conan take over. for lack of a less derogatory term, hes being an indian giver.

Yes, honor trumps cash money. In theory. But, tell that to athletes, entertainers, and anyone that has been in a contract negotiation. You want to max your $$$$ at all costs because of the threat of any unfortunate disaster that might end your career.
