So THAT’S where Deon Cole is. I’ve been looking for new standup from him here and there with no luck. Glad to hear he got on a show (even if it’s beyond the scenes). Good look.
I haven’t seen the new Leno shows but I do like him (mainly because of the cars he owns). I really like Conan too…
I don’t like Fallon though. Fuck that guy.

He’s actually getting a decent amount of screen time too. It’s nice.
I may be wrong. But i’m pretty sure Jay’s manager I believe did all kinds of weaseling to wrangle away the tonight show from Letterman. Then he fired said wrangler. Not saying he can’t get his, and fire his employees if he wants to, but it just reeks of sleaze. and I think that’s why people are getting angry with Jay. He’ll do whatever it takes to have his way, and it’s disgusting to watch. Conan could JUST as easily keep his show if he moved his show back just a half hour. But obviously Conan is someone that cares about the principles and doing things the right way.

Those porn titles killed me. Seems like since Conan knows his time there is short he’s no longer going to tone it down.
A few things that have been on my mind:
Exactly how big of a gap in ratings was there between Leno and Conan? I don’t know what their demographics are, but from what I’ve always read younger demographics in smaller numbers can sometimes be > older ones in larger numbers. The idea being that young folks have a higher dispensable income, and don’t as high of a product loyalty as the older folks stuck in their ways.
The second thing is that as much as I enjoy Conan over Leno the only thing NBC really did wrong from a business/moral standpoint is not telling Conan ahead of time that he wasn’t going to get much time to win people over. If Jay’s audience really was that much bigger and more desired then he’s the guy that needs to be hosting the Tonight Show. You can talk about lead ins and anything else, but the bottom line is who’s watching, and if more people were watching Leno then that’s really who should have be hosting.

Conan hasn’t been funny for years. Fallon is a total waste of life…i don’t understand how he ever gets jobs, he ruined snl, all his movies suck…like who the fuck likes this guy. Leno has atleast been consistent over the years. He’s not amazingly funny…but he’s not bad either. Conan used to kill it…he’s like snl and the simpsons to. He’s glory days are far behind him.

Thanks for the link. It was hilarious when Kimmel wanted to come on Jay’s show and make jokes about him taking his show. But then Jay wanted that joke too and so it no longer became funny. Still, Jimmy’s last bit at the end was the real stinger. Fuck Jay Leno.

Hopefully, after the Stern interview, people will understand that ratings is as much about lead-in’s than anything else. When you have Law and Order: SVU or some other high rated show leading into your show, typically, you will have better ratings than someone else. Who was Conan’s lead-in? A shitty Jay Leno show. It’s almost like he orchestrated the whole thing to get rid of Conan.

People can say oh its not Lenos fault blah blah, blame the producers blah blah, but Jay’s track record speak for themselves. It happened to letterman, it happened to Rosie, now its Conan. People dont bash you cuz they feel like it, its cuz you screwed them.
