He probably says Sonic Blade as he’s throwing an EX Sonic Boom. Good lookin’ on this.
Can they stop gimping nash? I’ve already lost all interest in playing him, I get it.
All of this nerfing and naysaying wants me to pick him up actually. We’ll see
I actually think he’s pretty good from what I’ve seen. A legit very hard to react to high/low game off a standard hit confirm starter, solid pokes, super good pressure and tick throw ability, a very useful air throw, and full screen punish with his V Trigger. He might have some issues on defense if they nerfed his anti-airs, but I find him to be legitimately scary.
So yeah, I’m with you; every time I hear someone cry out about how much they’re ruining Nash or how Bison is OP I just cry a little.
He may still be good but he seems a lot more boring to play after they gimped his combos (which may now be reversed we will see)
Yeah it’s more about fun for me. I don’t mind low tier characters but let me do some cool shit at least.
Yeah I was just thinking that. Like if you do fierce into boom, and happen to get a crush counter, maybe the boom would hit after they spin back and you get an easy link.
Most cool shit needs to be discovered any ways. If Capcom removing some base things takes away all of his cool shit, he probably was rather basic to begin with.
^you have to admit that not all of their decisions make the most sense.
did they give tragedy assault and sonic scythe faster startup ? or my eyes are being decieved ?

Everything in this game is getting more and more basic the more builds we see
You can try to make things more basic, but players still dictate how complicated things get. SFIV was made to be really basic also, then the Japanese found a lot of shit. You can’t just make a game basic. There’s always things to exploit no matter what you do.
Agreed. No matter how basic or advanced as developers make things, something will come out of the anarchy of gameplay through the players. SFIV is a prime example of basic design, but many other games like SFIII Charge buffering and parrying might have been “basic” within the confines of the time period and it brought forth a crap load of stuff to play with.
I don’t see SFV as basic at all. With V-Skill and V-Trigger alone adds a lot of shit to the table when the players dwell on it with time.
Nash’s V-Trigger in particular. Even without his juggles, having a Teleport that you can cancel out of almost everything with means people will be constantly finding shit.
The players that specialise in “lab work” and breaking down the game and characters to a science will discover stuff, that tech will be refined, naysayers will consider said tech impractical, then it’ll get utilised in competitive settings, from then the so called impractical tech will become a staple of the character. Rinse, repeat this cycle till the game’s death. And I’m not even mentioning the potential of bugs and glitches here.
Of the 7 characters listed at the Evo panel, Nash was the only one listed as “difficult to use”. Which means if he is struggling at first to show potential like Viper or Gen, that makes sense.
Here you have the finals from the spanish invitational we had last week, this is the karin build so Nash has some buffs and he looks pretty decent again:

id like to check out the whole tourney
link ?
@Sharin thanks for posting this! Very insightful and confirmed a few specualtive thoughts about his f.lk being buffed. Another thing I noticed is that the aerial V-trigger juggle is still intact, dunno if the input is still different tho. I’m also glad that Capcom got their S#it together and now Nash’s Critical Art on block takes a NICE chunk of life off (4:08), unlike before where it did nada.
Too bad we can’t play him in the upcoming beta lol.

At minute 4:30 he say the police arrive and was telling that they need to finish the event lol. Them they let them play for 10 more minutes to finish the event.
Holy shit, no Nash in the Beta. I’m so pissed!
At the 3:51 mark, Nash does an air throw then does a dash a RH Moonsault Slash and based on the sound effects it sounded like it does 2 hits now but someone double check that.
f+LK doesn’t look like it got buffed at all, imo. That move was also negative on block and was dependent on the spacing to keep yourself as safe as possible.
11:35 He does cr.jab x2, s.Jab~Strong xx Jab Tragedy assault and it looks like Jab Tragedy Assault has faster start up and better recovery.
