Nash General Thread: Charlie (Nash) finally revealed!

Do you have a video for that? Is it a good combo-ender?

it can be a combo ender, but your better off going for a knockdown with a special move.

its more of a good long range poke, which nash really needs. he can also cancel it into teleport to combo off a stray v skill. im hoping that hasnt been nerfed yet lol.

His V-Skill is an OK poke but punishable, you gotta make sure it’s spaced correctly which is quite tricky given his walkspeed.

You can also VTrigger cancel as mentioned. Pretty good as a punish method because of the range. E.g. You can punish a Ryu blocked fireball up close with V-Skill xx V-Trigger > c.HP > b+MK xx HK Scythe for good damage and stun. (otherwise you’d only be able to get a jab combo for much less damage and stun)

I’ll be at EGX today, I believe it has the latest SFV build so I’ll post up anything interesting I find.

I think hes looking that sort of character that you just can’t pick up and play , you really need to it the labs with him

V Skill meter building has been nerfed, but now Crush Counters build you almost a full bar of V Gauge. So crush counters are the new way to build V Gauge.

It’s just Ryu’s meter building that has been confirmed nerfed.

If that’s the case then even better. That would even further help Nash’s cause since his V Skill is still very viable as a poke and anti fireball for meter building. If not, crush counters will otherwise stand out over using V Skills to build V Gauge.

Turns out the guys who had the latest build at EGX weren’t running SFV on the day I went… So the only build was the Vega build in the stupid ass Sony section. And it was basically 100% new players. Beat down a few people then left in boredom… Sorry for false alarm.

Generally not great since his v skill is above average for building meter, and his crush counter(s) is below average.

Which normals are his crush counters again? I only know of f+HP.

Stand Fierce is his alternative Crush Counter I believe

I haven’t actually see that so I wasn’t sure. But it would be great of course.

Got some confirmation from someone at Twitchcon that a lot of the information about Nash’s nerfs up to this point are mostly false. I’m checking out the specifics but things like s.LK target combo link not working and V-Trigger juggles not working are false.

This can only be possible if they were put back in. I tested extensively in at least 3 builds since the Ken build and they were gone.

I haven’t heard anything about the nerf to his s.LK Target Combo though. It has seemed the same to me in every build I’ve played.

Thank God if that’s true.

Standing fierce is an interesting choice for crush counter since it’s usually something you would automatically cancel into something safe anyway… Unless you can really do some quick confirming off the counterhit state and cancel into moonsault it would be tricky to use properly.

It might just be his DP Punish crush counter if you can get a better combo off it than his spinning backfist?

F.rh would make for a better crush counter than standing fierce.

Good to know because this is showing that Capcom is making a lot of changes to the characters and not sticking to the changes between builds.
