If you want some high level play.
I would love to be able to face a real person with my KAT, the more I practice with it, the more confident I get that I can make an impenetrable wall of annoyance. As long as I don’t mess up, there are few ways to get past the chaos that this team puts on the field.
Funny part is, most of the damage comes from the opponent thinking that can get through it all, only to get hit by something and fly backward. I then simply flick to attack mode, get a knockback, and start using items.
Then I just go back to mid-screen and repeat. It feels like my Danzou Got Genes team, except with so much more protection available.
IF i want to invest into this game, where do I start? what exact skills are using in this game? (their seem to be alot of micro management going on)
To be short, it’s managing your resources while force your opponent to waste his.
This game is 40% Yomi, and 60% high-speed resource management.
It’s the basics, a lot of Yomi without the execution ( Since, the execution is the bare minimum here. ) There is a long post about that on the last page.
^ This. Pretty much the tl;dr version of the post on the first page. Just check out the write-up I did.
I will be totally honest here, as I believe in not only that policy, but also that this place is for tips and tricks. Therefore, there is no need to be false about one’s skills.
While I do believe I had mastered my KAT, I finally went online and tried a player match, a test to see how my team functions vs real peeps. It didn’t take long to know that my team wasn’t that great, and of course the person to teach me this wrecked me with Shisui, as well as not getting too involved in our fight.
I tried to fix it up, but without Deidara main it really is impossible to have a strong team that is 100% focused on keepaway, and having him as main prevents him from being a support (and he’s a very strong one). Fact is that the changes in Revo have really hit keepaway hard, and to be honest that’s a good thing, it just saddens me as it’s my favored playstyle.
I scrapped it and dubbed Team Danzo Got Genes my KAT team. I would like some advice on which version of the 1st Hokage to have as a support, though: should I have Alive or Dead?
I was under the impression that The Second Mizukage was the best ranger character after Deidara. Did you tried with him ?
Edo Tensei Hashirama seems better to annoy rangers with his Wooden Dragon.
I got owned by a A.Groove Hinata, her true awakening is good, she can start comboing you from very far with her ranged Lion Palms and cancel them with chakra dash to get close.
I shadow this thread a lot and I’ve really been contemplating getting this.
Got bodied when the online demo was out (figured since I never played these games before), but I’m really intrigued by it.
I can’t quote you @ForsakenM~ because mobile SRK is balls, but if you’re looking for a good zoner you might wanna try the Edo Tensei Mizukage with A groove. He’s actually a really interesting character considering his genjutsu causes all projectiles and such to focus on a mirage of him that appears on the stage.
Utakata is pretty good too, albeit hard to use. You’re definitely gonna want an assist like Neji or Pain, though. Zoning is pretty hard to do in general in this game depending on the matchup.
It would be cool to try and make a list of the special effects Awakening grants, like invulnerability to ranged attacks, upgraded jutsus etc …
I might get this game
The PS3 version has the most people online, then the xbox360 version, and last the PC version ( Which have less loading times, better resolution but even less people online .)
some gameplay from a friend of mine.
Lots to comment on, so I’ll try to keep it short and organized.
@Reiji and The Martian: I did try him out just because he seems cool and I noticed that unless the computer is a character with very little options, it’s way too easy to get of his combos, even when locked down or pushed away by assists. This may not be true, but I have noticed that training against the AI in the Naruto series while on MAX difficulty is a great way to get an idea of how your team works. The only thing that this AI doesn’t do that we do as humans is abuse mechanics, it does literally everything else from what I’ve noticed.
@FallenGalaxy: Good to know I’m not the only one with games that have bad connections. I have noticed a few things from that vid, the main one being that Support Drive can disturb/ruin this new thing going around that involves using both your counter and both guard breaks. Defense Mode/All Mode all but annul following up after a guard break, due to the stun bring shorter than that of the counter. You can still follow up after a counter, I did notice that positioning yourself in an area that makes it hard to follow up or keep up a combo. Also, peeps need to stop countering so much, and start learning how to read their opponent better.
My Costa Rican friend got the copy I sent him, and he’s busy unlocking characters. When he’s done, I can use him as a testing buddy and hopefully bring him here for any thoughts or discoveries he may have.

Mecha Naruto god tier confirmed !
So THAT’s what Kamui does… Interesting…
This has given me some insight. seem it be best I experiment with things but micro managing going to be my main turn off. Not that I hate it but i simply don’t understand how I want to do it.
What? You mean the fact that CC2 made Kamui work how Kakashi actually uses it in the manga?
On another note, I like how Mecha-Naruto’s vid is literally ‘Hey, look how good he is! Make everyone wish they were playing him! Please, crush them more!’
On another other note, I figured out that this game is pretty much just like every other when it comes to the roster: New characters range from decent to ridiculous, Bad characters stay bad, characters who needed nerfs didn’t get them, and characters who weren’t all that great get ripped apart.
This was a step in the right direction though, as the idea is that every character should be on the same level of viability, and this version made a major step towards that goal.
Double post, my bad. Not sure why no one else is, but I thought I could make a discussion starter.
Who do you think is a better character now, thanks to Storm Revo?
Followed by…Who do you think got their teeth knocked out by the nerf hammer, thanks to Storm Revo?
Obviously, this doesn’t include the newcomers (or costumes), which includes (in Alpabetical Order!):

If I missed any, let me know.
My buff? This is a hard pick for me, but I think I might have to pick either Danzo or Orochimaru.
Spoiler
Danzo was amazing in Generations, then got nerfed a bit in Storm 3. I had to change up my entire strategy and gameplay due to his changes. The changes he was given to his Awakening Drive allow me to not only bring back a portion of my previous playstyle, but it encourages even more the ‘Keepaway when normal, Heavy Aggro when Awakened’ playstyle that I like.
As for Orochimaru, while he isn’t perfect yet, I feel he’s SO much better than his previous iterations.
As for my nerf? This one isn’t hard at all, lol. If I had to pick a group, it would be all the keepaway characters; if it’s just one character, it would be Jiraiya (weird, an original Sanin in each one?).
[details=Spoiler]
No matter how you look at it, any keepaway character has been nerfed. Tenten is borderline defenseless against heavy rushdown due to having to pick between Support and Awakening Drives, Utakata is no longer a viable support, and Ino is not only no longer a viable support, but also needs to actually rush in as a main, which is not all that great for her.
As for a single character, it has to be Jiraiya. Have any of you played him? I don’t know whether it was the changes in Revo that did this to him or whether he was nerfed in particular, but he’s just absolutely unplayable now. Not even as a support, and his best drive is Awakening…which is the comeback drive…which pretty much says ‘I have to suck the whole match just to be decent for about 10 seconds.’ Team Legendary Guts is no longer profitable, you would be better off to stick with Team Hero and Savior.[/details]
Jiraiya is still balls.
Danzo, imo, actually got way worse…because now instead of playing as a character than can use ultimates, transform into probably the best awakening in the game, AND use the various functions of support drives, you now have a character that can only do one of those at a time. And it’s arguable that his ability to use that true awakening in UNS3 put him over the edge for being one of the best characters in the game. getting 4 extra subs at will was definitely better than the two bumper attacks he has now.
I mean I’m not complaining, he was utter bullshit to deal with once he awakened in UNS3 so I’m glad he seems to be balanced now. But I don’t really think he got better. He just became different, if anything.
Orochimaru definitely got better, though. I’m not sure I can say what exactly they even did, but whatever it was he’s just…better now. I think his jutsu maybe might have less startup frames (kind of like how clone jutsu Itachi’s clones come out WAYYYYYY faster now) and they might have improved his dash as well. Other than that I really can’t say, but I am enjoying him a lot more now.
I also agree that most of the zoners in this game got pretty fucked. There’s just so many options now that make zoning way harder than it needs to be. You’re almost forced to pick D Groove every time so that other players can’t just bumrush you the whole fight. Maybe parries would come in handy for the zoners but I have yet to extensively test it.
