How can you fuck up a war? There are literally hundreds if not thousands of battles going on right now. Yeah there are only five divisions but each one has important characters going up against important antagonists. Not every battle will be worth its ink but you have to look at this battle the way the author did: Have the Kage’s best ninja show off his battle abilities. That’s all it was. Motherfuckers in this thread can’t even write a post let alone a compelling story then they’re gonna cry about it. Shit.

You dont go from almost killing the second to losing to team shikamaru, all in one chapter too. Thats just shit writing. In 2nd hokage’s defense he didn’t master Edo Tensei. I also think he had primitive space time jutsu’s. I doubt his skill was as good as 4th hokage. His main shit was S-Rank water jutsu’s.
Im sure he was top tier in other areas but imma give him the benefit of the doubt. Im assuming that multiple jonin level nins attacked him at the same time. Those nins prolly were kage lvl in they own right.
It’s just like Kakazu saying he fought the first…it’s like c’mon how did you survive cuz we know the 1st was beasting on nins. I doubt these fights were one-on-one.
first was def beasting. also him getting sick might have something with madaras last fight with him (which mad lost on purpose to get his powers somehow).

The first was the power to gel everything, but the second was the one who tried to make it all work for real for real. And in terms of abilities, he may not be the tree guy, but think about the majority of broken shit in the manga…dude is like the begining of that shit. Between Space-Time Jutsu (Madara) and the dead-ninja shit (Oro/Kabuto), mixed with unparalleled water usage (meaning Kisame aint even on par)…and yeah…I’ll give homie his respect. It’s the third whom I question the most…of the 4 hokages (Tsunade don’t count…she was a draft day trade).

Yeah let’s ignore the fact that Shikamaru’s team was backed up by a division and had Darui using a special item. If the back up or item was missing they would have been wasted in less than 3 seconds.

It was pre-sharrigan Danzo…from what we saw…how good was Danzo outside of his ‘add-on’ hacks? He couldn’t even handle Sasuke…and thats with an ARM FULL of sharigans. the Blackage just went Hulk hogan on Sauske and while he would have lost IMO - he didn’t have a sharrigan. Danzo was NOT Kage teir despite him thinking he was. Also I doubt he hid his personality the way he does now, it was prolly evident what kind of Kage he’d be verse Sarutobi.
And Danzo made it to the D-League…then after playing there beyond his age, he transfered to Europe where they throw chicken heads at the players and spit on them as they come out the locker room.

but Professor Hokage (Prof.H) had an old summons monkey that suggested in his prime he could and would have merced his two preceding Hokages. Edo’d or not. I mean half that fight was talk about how Sarutobi has weakened with age… and how legendary he was compared to it.
Atleast 10 yrs earlier Oro was reportedly killable but Hiruzen in his 70s vs Oro in a 30ish body with 2 necro kage assists is a tall order. 1st and 2nd didn’t get to retire and try a Rocky 6 comeback.
I don’t think Danzou believed he was kage-level in power. He just wanted to be Hokage and protect Konoha. I think he was a threat to the Third simply because he was ruthless and did whatever it takes, not his skill level.
^ The 3rd Hokage would’ve fucking merked Sasuke if they ever fought… I doubt Danzou was on par with any Kage… well except Tsunade who I really don’t want to count…

Besides the elephant danzo summoned, we didnt get to see what he could do other than abuse izanagi. That what i hate about sharingan, ppl tend to do less with more.
the sasuke that fought danzou would have merced 3rd, sasuke now is beyond anything 3rd can do. i dont know how you get that 3rd would merc sasuke.
if the Sauce [as fighting Danzou] had his match up with an Oro [as fighting the 3rd with 2 kage assists] capable of stalemating Hiruzen Sarutobi, I think the out come would be similar with the Uchia surviving his sealing of the 1st and 2nd…
I can kinda see the sauce taking down Danzou as a clean win. This is why…
Danzou couldn’t handle the 3rd. He would’ve done it a while back if he could. Oro with the assists managed to take out the 3rd. This same Oro trained Sasuke, who eventually defeated Oro. It’s safe to say that Sauce has a bit of strength to him if he could do that even to a weakend Oro. I think if Danzou had been a bit more agressive in the fight, he could’ve gotten away to fight again later. Of course, the power of plot armor would prevent him from getting a win on sauce, but at least a tie should’ve been possible. too bad though. Dan was shaping up to be a cool sneaky villian IMO.

No he wouldn’t have. His dying moments showed that Sarutobi was essentially his best friend, someone he admired. Ignoring that he wouldn’t fight and kill him directly for political reasons it would essentially create a civil war.
He’s getting underrated, Sasuke required Karin’s assist when he stabbed him through the stomach and he was unable to use Shishui’s eye.
