His last moments showed he wanted to protect the leaf village. Even if we were to ignore his desire to protect the village and assume he was some power crazy old goon, a civil war would fall in the circle of something capable of reducing his power. It would be better to get the whole villages support as as opposed to the different factions fighting one another.
I fully agree that his (Danzou’s) ultimate goal was the protection of Konoha. His views on how to do it differed greatly from the third, which would put them at odds. I’m thinking the only reason they didn’t go to blows is because Dan didn’t want none. I have to admit, Civil war never helps when you wanna rule over all. That’s why he was playing it out from the shadows. His plans just didn’t get done before the clock ran out. King for a day, dead for a lifetime Dan.

Sasuke that fought Danzo beating the 3rd rubs chin…I can’t call it. We never truly saw 3rd in his prime nor know the extint of his abilities. We don’t know where he was phyiscally either. Sasuke has two main advantages, sharigan and physical prowess (I’m calling his knowledge and forethought a pure draw @ kage level) and we don’t now what younger Sarutobi was like younger (physically) and becaues of the era he came up in, I’m SURE he had defenses and knowledge to get around the sharrigan…something lacking in a day and age where they are extinct by the classical definition.

Dano wasn’t seeing the 3rd in their respective primes. Yes I’m basing that off Danzo’s fight with Sauce, but his abiliyies and tactics outside of sharrigan use - while good…seem easily trumpable by what the 3rd WAS doing at an old age also. Some more food for thought on Danzo…when the 3rd retired…Danzo wasn’t picked 4th…and when the 4th died, Danzo STILL didn’t get that new gov’t paycheck.

I don’t think Sasuke is on any Kage level. He BARELY beat Danzo and all he did to the Raikage was take an arm and was about to lose his head to a fucking Hulk Hogan Leg Drop. There was no way Amaterasu would have stopped it. When it engulfed his right arm he STILL didn’t flinch.
It still suprises me that ppl think Sasuke isnt at kage level and he’s lower tier than danzo?! face palms Pre sharingan hack danzo probably on par with sennins, post hacks maybe a hand full of shinobis could handle danzo and the power of izanagi.

also 3rd was stronger than danzou. but danzou with the sharingans would prolly beat hiruzen. hiruzen didnt even know dan had sharingan, he had shisuis, 3rd would have been caught in a genjutsu before he knew wtf would be up since he woulddnt even be suspecting hed be facing the sharingan. you know what they say about a real sharingan user, you need 2 nins or be a fucking jinchuuriki to battle them. danzou aint no sasuke or itachi, but hed still be more than enough for 3rd, especially if the 3rd doesnt know about them pewpews.
The sasuke that lost to KB is a totally different sasuke that fought danzo. Eventhough it was a very short time interval, they are two different sasukes. With the same logic, didnt gaara lose to deidara? Where do u place gaara then and now?

He’s obviously weaker without the One-Tail.
Still, Gaara just lost against Deidara and in the meantime between all the sagas after his stardom he could be stronger even without the One-Tail. Or Sasuke didnt get more stronger after losing the Orochimaru Seal?..
He also had to protect a whole village. I think on an even battleground, Gaara would have one of the better chances to beat Deidara. One of Deidara’s biggest advantages is being able to attack from really long range (like from the air) while most nins are stuck on the ground.
I forgot what really happened during the Danzou Vs. Sasuke fight, but I remember Danzou pretty much had multiple lives due to Izanagi. Having to kill the same person so many times would give anybody trouble. But I think if Sasuke can figure a way to beat/trick Danzou, the 3rd (with all his knowledge) would find a way as well.
Oh, and I’m sure Sasuke is Kage-level with all of his pew-pew hacks.
