Nothing new is gonna be revealed about Neji or the Byakugan. It’s been like 4 years since Neji’s character has been really developed. Time to give it up you guys.

Obviously they did stuff in the past(though there is nothing that shows who started the wars, they could have been on defense in that war too), but the entire time we were watching that show the only conflicts they had other people started, and there were no active wars going on, and in fact konoha had a war started AGAINST it, ended the war, and then instantly became allies with the aggressors.

the ninja world was already chillin and enjoying 15+ years of peace and prosperity. and the naruto isn’t that different from our world, the fact that in some parts of the world parents stone their children to death for stupid religious reasons make it ok for people to fly planes into buildings or suicide bomb innocent people on trains? pein was a nutjob, plain and simple and his master plan was some textbook super villain shit and even justified in a typical super villain way.

I applaud your ability to read and interpret the story and in a vacuum. Kisame wasn’t evil. he was a soldier following orders. he did what he was told to do. He followed madara not because he was evil. he followed madara because he was the first person that presented an option of truth to him when he had been lied to his entire life. Do you even read the manga or just skim through the pictures?
Pein’s whole goal was to make everyone realize what pain and war really were so that they would stop. He wasn’t the sadist you’ve incorrectly interpreted him to be. When his other options were exhausted he picked the route he thought would lead to peace. He was confused, but not evil.
Another point of the manga that has been driven home since the beginning is that there are no innocent ninjas. You missed that along with the theme that there are repercussions for everything. Kishi has pretty much thrown in your face that Konoha wasn’t as pristine as people make it out to be. We’ve been basically shown multiple times that the history we’ve been given on konoha is just the surface and that there was a lot of underhanded dirty dealings occurring behind the scenes. The elders who were responsible for the village were extremely shady dudes. The events that pein was associated with is just Konoha and the ninja world in general reaping what was sewn. When you kick a dog in the ass and it runs back to bite you you don’t get to be like “that was yesterday! I’m innocent now!” Blood on the hands is blood on the hands.
so he wanted the world to realize how horrible war was…while they were at peace? c’mon, son. i’m sure in kishi’s mind pein, sasuke and everybody else are’t bad people…but based on the events of the story most of their actions are indefensible, even the whole “circle of vengeance” shit is flawed.
EDIT: you know what…nevermind about kisame. his backstory is so dumb that nothing can really be made of him. dude had a sense of honor and nothing else really.
I agree with bj on this one about pein. His whole village seemed to care a lot about him, and how he brought peace to there village. They even subjected themselves to torture due to there loyalty towards him. Not to many villians who are pure evil have the devotion of there town like that. He was misguided, but he wasn’t pure evil. If anyone had the brand of pure evil in Naruto it would be Hidan and Sasori. Just my opinion
It’s amazing how some of you (BJ) try to justify the actions of Pein as acceptable. You are so quick to turn an eye; just because Naruto did some last minute ‘friend no jutsu’ does not make Pein some evangelist with a cause. That guy, and the rest of Akatsuki, are MASS murderers. Plain and simple. And it would be moronic to think that all of these bad guys are all of a sudden good just because of a flashback or something. If that’s the case, then this manga is a COMPLETE waste of time. And i’m happy our justice system doesn’t work in the same light as the Narutoverse. Kisame, Itachi, Pein, the WHOLE of AKATSUKI should be facing a firing squad! That’s why I hate the notion of forgetting all the killings and murders that was done. MOST criminals (obviously not Kisame) show some remorse or regret for their actions as they prepare for the death chair…
Your describing Pain as a dictator/tyrant which is in sync with the negative views of him. No set of people should willingly subject themselves to torture out of blind loyalty to their leader. Things don’t work that way here in America. Maybe in places like Cuba, North Korea, etc. they do shit like that for Castro or Kim Jong Il (however the hell you spell his name).

Seriously, I agree. He’s the kind of criminal that KNOWS better. He knows that his actions hurt, and he INTENTIONALLY does it so that we can be converted to his way of thinking? Yeah, guy is straight up HITLER. At least Kisame was just fucked up and had no sense of morality from the get go.

Again pein was wrong, a bad guy, no ones denying that, but he’s not the type of evil person yall was trying to point out at 1st. He has a goal for world peace, even if that mean crushing those that get in the way. The way he was written is the same way naruto was written his method is just different. There the same characters in a nut shell with different methods of achieving the same goal.
Ninja’s kill to achieve there goal, pein goal is world peace, and he feels the only way people (ninja’s) can understand what it is to have peace is to have suffered pain or a great lost. He wasn’t killing people that walked by, but if you where to stop him and say. “Nah man you can’t do this” You would get murked… But unlike sasori or deidari who might just blow up something or make someone into a puppet because they have cool powers…Pein didn’t do that.
Kisame was kind of a wild card imo, he was solider and had old war torn solider tendencies, a itchy trigger finger. But for the most part he just followed orders. He even followed itachi orders to the letter.

back to naruto, if the story had been following kabuto, evetybody else would have been evil for the bad things that they do. just because the story follows konoha, doesnt mean konoha isnt evil. konoha has had a nice hokage last 16 years or so, but even then the black ops and the elders where evil. they just ddnt have madara/tony montana styloe balls to actually be what they want to be. well, at least danzou tried. the rest is still gay.
good/peaceful nins are like naruto, itachi, jman, 4th and such. people that want to help and save as many people as possible. and when possible, not kill.

The point you miss is that every ninja in the manga is a murderer. They’ve all killed people to achieve a goal that they believe to be right. What makes your right more right than theirs?
No, it becomes moronic to assume the actions occur in a vacuum which I assume explains why you’re doing it. If you caught just the part of the manga where Shikamaru was sentencing Hidan to an eternity of solitude in pieces, or the part where Kakazu was killed by Kakashi, you would have witnessed them murdering, plain and simple. By your logic (or continued lack thereof) they’d be murderers “plain and simple.” So are Kakashi and Shikamaru evil now? Konoha was part of the military force that Pein believed and possiby witnessed wipe out every relative he had. Why are they suddenly innocent?

Our world (what a terrible statement to make since judicial systems vary greatly from country to country) does operate on a similar justice system to Naruto. The world DID consider Akatsuki criminals. Your entire point is meaningless. The only one who thought beyond the mere label was Naruto. Personally, I’m betting that the point of view being reiterated by the character the manga is named after may be an extremely important aspect, but perhaps that’s just me.

There’s nothing tyrnnical about that. he didn’t require it. They willilingly volunteered based on the prosperity he provided them.

Uh, no. Not at all. Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan recruited people with the intent of ending wars peacefully. Konoha’s Root and Amagakure’s leader Hanzo feared their power and set them up to kill them and take them out. Yahiko sacrificed himself and Nagato went all Stephen Hawking Akira mode to kill them. Konoha was responsible for both, the death of his family as a kid, and then the death of his friends as an adult.
