Yes we’ve seen that the elders are kinda shady, yeah we had danzo running around, but like thurst said, there has been no notable aggression in 15 years, and like I’ve brought up several times, konoha ended the only act of aggression they have had(which was COMPLETELY unprovoked) peacefully. You want peace? Don’t go and blow up the one shining example of peace the world actually has. I also don’t remember the part where konoha completely obliterated their towns full of civilians, there’s a huge difference between being caught up in a war, and randomly terrorist bombing an entire city with no warning.
Also I again bring up the fact that we don’t know the circumstances of the war konoha had that affected pains village, for all we know they were just defending themselves again.
As for the ‘blood on the hand is blood on the hands’ no one is arguing that pain doesn’t have the right to be mad at konoha, and no ones saying ‘ah konoha should be scott free, now that they are peaceful it’s like they never did anything’, what we’re saying is if your goal is peace, and someone is trying to mend their old ways and become peaceful you don’t go blow them up.
except the part where ALL the younger ninjas in konoha are basically completely innocent, and the only thing we’ve seen the entire rest of the village do is go around and help people(see: basically every arc ever). Zabuza was the shining example of what you think the theme is, but they spent practically that entire arc completely subverting that theme and then didn’t touch on it at all until pain showed up.

You’re kidding right? You have to be. 90% of the history lesson we have is from the mouth of Konoha. The only time we really get any insight into anything beyond the surface it’s from someone who isn’t currently part of Konoha. It’s like reading a US history book and going “nope. America never initiated anything.” The history presented is based on third person limited perspective, not third person omniscience.
I totally forgot that the naruto universe came into existence with the birth of Naruto, but that’s probably because it didn’t. You don’t get to rape a guy and his family twice and then declare “Timeout!” when he runs up on you.

What the rest of us are saying is the elders themselves were making moves. You’re making a claim that konoha was attempting to be peaceful when it’s representation and leadership clearly was not. If Konoha was mending it’s ways Danzo would not have had the power he did. it’s a constant battle for power. Stop pretending that konoha is an unwilling participant just because it’s the main city. We’re talking about the same city who treated the title character like a leper even after his parents sacrificed themselves for him. We’re talking the same city that had the Uchiha clan assassinated and covered it up.
Except the part where kakashi continually drives home that they will be forced to kill. That’s what ninja do. That’s the way of the ninja and the ninja world. It’s kill or be killed not for survival but simply as an assignment which is driven entirely by money.

I’ll admit neji was borderline, he beat hinata way to hard but that’s literally it, and in fact let shikamaru’s team go in the forest of death, and after his fight with naruto became a good guy. Other than that, they fought the sound 5(followers of clearly an unapologeticaly evil orochimaru) and akatsuki(roving band of super powerful psychopaths(yes even pain)). I mean I guess all the times we don’t see characters they could be off assassinating innocents who got in the way of business like zabuza, but given how the village and all the characters act I find that hard to believe.

this is coming from the guy who went out of his way to help the bridge builder even though the job should have paid way way more and was way more dangerous than originally specified and is all about the ‘poeple who don’t help their friends are lower than trash’. I find ‘kakashi’s "the ninja world is a rough place where you have to be a cold killing machine’ speeches hard to swallow.

The problem with your logic is that they were essentially at a meeting for a PEACE treaty when people decided to turn on them. You’re right. People who don’t want peace totally show up to peace treaties trusting other countries with their guards down.

Kishi has spent the last years vilifying the Akatsuki organization, and he cannot overcome that by some weak-assed emotional contrived flashbacks. It’s a kin to me showing sympathy to middle eastern terrorist groups because they fight in the name of Muslim/Mohammed beliefs. Fuck NO!
