right now I’m running my old casual MvC2 team with Spidey Iron Man and Sentinel but I also have other teams like Spidey Chun Storm, and a few others. I still run Doom but now that people got the buffs they needed or reverted back to what they were suppose to be to start with I have more assist plus great characters still. Spidey with Iron Man is hella stronger together now with the ability to get multiple web throws in the corner off an OTG. Iron Man also gets out in time to DHC into PC if need be. Using two bars and a basic BnB I get over a mill with those two. With Doom I can still tag in do a wall loop and then level three for over a mill after mashing but why use the extra bar?
thanks for pointing that out Airborne… I didn’t know that the Centurion Rush Assist was an overhead… I was thinking of using the Gravametric Pulse also, but I think the word “overhead” helped point out the obvious

Ok so, here’s the biggest issues with spidey thanks to the system changes.
HE CANNOT HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANYONE!! on a happy birthday in vanilla, I would just Exchange into any other of my chars and they would kill the two.
Now when you try to exchange during a happy birthday situation, only the assist gets hit.
As far as from my findings, He cannot combo into CA or MS from a happy birthday and get two chars. I need to find a happy birthday combo!!
describe what you are trying to do because he can still happy birthday people with a double web swing combo like normal

He can definitely do his regular combos in a happy birthday situation, but he can’t go into a super that would hit both characters. MS will only catch one, and he can’t combo into CA afaik in a situation like that.
Thankfully Webswing gives a full untechable soft knockdown
He can easily combo into crawler assault utilizing spider sting h, spider bite, cr. h, l spider sting crawler assault at the end of a combo, and can then utilize the untechable knockdown at the end to combo into a super such as hawkeyes arrow rain.
That only works in the corner and as such he can’t do anything after CA in the corner as he is still recovering. CA is only able to follow up midscreen. Also by the time you do a long combo into CA and try to follow up that late they will insta tech. But yes iNerd just do a combo that will push them both to the corner and act accordingly. To make is easier you can do :h: spider sting/bite then :l: spider sting xfc CA if need be and that should kill all the same and still allows you the 50/50 with X factor off kill
Also what I actually came here for. If you happen to land a CA midscreen after a long combo where the OTG will cause insta tech you can always just TK MS and it will connect before they touch the ground.
actually, crawler assault does put them into hard knockdown, so danke is talking about using an otg dhc (super scatter shot from hawkeye)
Hmm, I wasn’t aware of L spidersting x Crawler assault. Spider sting make me airborne so I didn’t think I could cancel my airborne uppercut into CA. I’ll try it out now though.
Just zip cancel an :l: spider sting and you will see that it starts on the ground.
Yeah CA does put them in a hard knockdown but if you are canceling :l: spider sting into CA it will whiff midscreen. You can’t call assist, during specials or supers and Spidey is still recovering in the corner after they bounce from the wall. It’s the only place he can’t followup from, even with assist as it still requires you being in normal state and them starting up their move.
oh yeah. but spiderman’s double web swing combo does considerable corner carry, so it’ll usually work out.
Ah I see what you guys are talking about. I got it to work but only in the corner. Midscreen the end of CA goes through the other character and I whiff my final hit.

L cr M Cr H, L Web swing, M H, H web swing, M M S, st M st H S, M M H S. call assist and otg. once the assist ends you can reset right into Ultimate Web Throw. After you can do an otg and do another full combo. It will kill any character with 1 bar. I havent tried it on small characters but i dont think the otg will land after the UWT. The great thing about the combo is it will always end in the corner. This is my first mvc post so dont hate

I swear I find the weirdest shit. After a web throw Spidey is completely free as we know but if you wave dash fast enough you can actually hit them before they touch the ground. I just hit with c:h: but it was accidental and I wasn’t expecting it so I didnt try to follow up. Obviously this happened midscreen as we already know you can combo in the corner
Edit: Ok so I tried it again and here’s a few things I noticed.
Spidey has to be right in their face to do it, thus making it hella impractical. Haven’t tried it with a combo but scaling may do something to it anyways even if short.
Secondly it took me about three good wave dashes to get there but I was mashing so I don’t have a set timing on it to test point one.
Can’t follow up with :s: since it causes roll, not sure if an assist can layer over to actually get a hit into something… combo video stuff
As of right now its just a little tidbit info about our character. If anything it’ll make for a flashy combo if something can be done off of it.
More observations, using a part of Derezz’s combo I substituted the j:s: for j:m:, at first I was trying to find something that would allow me to get my jumping loop in but no avail :sad:, what I did notice though was every now and then Spidey crossed up into the corner. Meaningless? No not really. Spidey is a lot more assist based this time around which isn’t a problem but if he were to cross up early in a combo to allow web throw to combo then
web throw to toss them back midscreen one could setup a way to combo into CA midscreen allowing Spidey to still follow up with TK MS
Have you considered Hawkeye as 3rd and Chun 2nd? To me, Hawkeye is an amazing anchor…that super is just too cheap and he gets insane chip while on x-factor.
Currently I’m going to go Spiderman/Strider/Skrull. Not sure who would be better on point, Spiderman or Strider, though. It’s going to be inexplicably hard, but I will make it work. I’m determined, lol.
