Hey Guys, I can admit I went to the dark side for a few months and left Spidey for Magneto ( to get a better understanding of the game). But now I’m back playing spidey and I can honestly say I’ve missed him like he misses Gwen.
So, it’s about time we get started on a Change-log from MVC3 to UMVC3. A nice quick reference so passer-bys and serious spidey players can all see the changes to our Peter Parker.
For now I would like to keep this as Strictly CONFIRMED news. I’ve heard a lot of stuff ( web throw isn’t full screen anymore being the worst ;( ) and I want this to be a 100% legit reference thread. With EVO coming up next week, which unfortunately won’t be able to attend, I would love for all the spidey players to come back here and post changes… I’ll also update this post so it’s all nice and neat and in the front

Web Swing, Spider Sting, Web Ball can be canceled into Web Glide.
Can activate air Web Swing from ground Web Swing.
Web Throw is subject to damage scaling.
The total frames for Crawler Assault have been decreased.
Crawler Assalt causes untechable knockdown.
Ultimate Web Throw attack direction has been changed to the side.
Number of hits in Crawler Assault can be increased through rapid button presses.
Number of hits in Ultimate Web Throw can be increased through rotating the joystick.**

See if phoenixs transformation start up was buffed to counter meaty uwt
Oh and if all his crossup shenanigans are still in like :s: after a web zip j:h: j:s: spidey should instantly crossup when you push up for the super jump

web throw not full screen anymore??? youre kidding right. hope i can still use my Maximum spider>hsien ko knifes>hard tag spidey>web throw.
also, is the nerf only applied to the horizontal version, or also the upwards version, it could have an effect on launcher > H web throw combos.
Hopefully they didn’t somehow nerf his launcher into Web Throw Loop. We all know how Capcom feels about infinites.
I wonder if it be too much to hope for invincibility on his UWT? Maybe faster startup on his Crawler Assault for easier punishes? That would be decent.
Crawler assault would be better for combo variety seeing as its stronger than MS but I would prefer it better if they sped up the the start up and shortened the recovery to be able to combo off of the wall bounce. If it meant bringing the damage down a slight bit I’d be happy with it so long as I could make use of it. Keep the invincibility though.
Fuck that lol he needs to be able to do that plus be able to use web zip afterwards to continue combos. Personally my changes to spiderman would any web based attack causes neutral recovery if webbing touches opponent ie web ball and web zip And web throw when it turns projectile. Make web balls faster on both ends to allow multiple uses of web ball in the air for combos ie the old marvel combos. Of course they sped up web zip but hopefully it’ll allow for solo relaunch combos plus it should be completely eight way in the air also if used on the ground it should cause downward fall on normals wherever the selected normal was pressed making for stronger instant overheads up close and a use for upwards web zip
also they should make spideys air and ground throws throw them at an upforward angle so he can follow up afterwards
Lol I was just thinking up and forward in an arc like motion or allow us to control it like magnetos hk throw in mvc2 where normal would throw forward like it does now and holding up would cause them to arc higher. That way midscreen you would still have all your throw setups you have now and in the corner you have the ability to combo from it like mags did in mvc2
Well, as far as I’m concerned, I’m looking forward to what they’re doing with Spidey if they continue to buff Web Zip.
However, I will be a bit upset if Web Throw is no longer full-screen… just a bit. I can still probably resume my keep away game, all the while combo’ing into it.
If they aren’t making it full screen anymore, what if they’re actually attempting to turn it into a full-fledged command throw? That’d be weird as fuck. o.O
Does anybody else feel that Spidey should get back his original qcb Web Swing? I know we’re all accustomed to the dp motion but I just can’t help but think about how much easier it would be to turn on some serious pressure with a quick qcb motion. Instant web swings will now be a hell of a lot easier to pull off in the middle of a match, also. A small health buff of 50,000, maybe 100,000 (pushing it), would also be beneficial.
This is off topic but I would love to see some new release costumes for Spidey. His 2099 version would be a great addition.
I dunno. Considering how huge the input windows are on this game and the fact there are no kick and punch buttons I’d get more web throws than I’d like. If we need an easier motion, I vote for copying Taskmaster’s swing lol.
Regarding his health, in that Maximilian video about UMvC3 changes he mentions the magic pixel is gone and his examples on how characters die faster is actually a Spider-Man =(. I hope for more health as well, but considering his mobility, I don’t think he’ll get it.
